Senior Communications Specialist
Foley Hoag seeks a data-driven and team-oriented Senior Communications Specialist (“Senior Specialist”) to champion and amplify the firm’s brand and execute strategic growth objectives. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, the incoming Senior Specialist will help determine the best approach to leveraging internal resources and external partners to maximize impact and drive firm goals. Central to this endeavor will be writing, editing, and enhancing a variety of internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will bring excellent interpersonal and time management skills, and be a strategic thinker and tactical executor.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications and the full Business Development Department to develop integrated communications plans to support strategic initiatives.
- Drafts and disseminates press releases and internal and external announcements for lateral hires, awards and recognitions, and other firm news.
- Provide strategic guidance on optimizing the firm’s website including collaborating with the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to develop best practices and ensure adherence to brand standards.
- Develop website pages and curate the homepage to reflect key firm priorities and initiatives.
- Manages development of biographies for attorneys, paralegals and business services professionals as well as offboarding process for the website.
- Draft a variety of written content and copyedit content for external distribution to ensure adherence to firm editorial guidelines.
- Analyze metrics to assess impact and refine strategies.
- Work closely with business development managers and internal stakeholders including department chairs, managing partners, and business services leadership to support integrated communications strategies.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of broad experience in strategic communications, communications planning, media relations, public relations, and internal communications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and respond quickly to inquiries so as to serve as an ambassador of superior internal client service.
- Ability to thrive in a lean, highly engaged team environment, with the entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual agility needed to toggle seamlessly between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
- Engaging and persuasive written and oral communication style, with an ability to serve as a professional and trusted representative of the firm; impeccable judgment and discretion.
- Ability to prioritize competing stakeholders and deadlines with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in marketing, communications or a related field. Experience in a law firm and/or professional services industry is preferred.
Compensation range is $88,000 to $110,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
