POSITION SUMMARY 

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Salesforce Developer to join our Global Sales Operations team. This role will play a critical part in designing, building, and enhancing custom Salesforce solutions that support our EdTech SaaS business. As a member of the Salesforce team, you will work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and CPQ. 

 

POSITION SCOPE 

Salesforce Development & Solution Design 

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Visualforce as needed, and SOQL/SOSL. 
  • Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with Salesforce best practices. 
  • Lead technical design for enhancements, defects, and new capabilities across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, and related platform components. 
  • Build reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code and components that support long-term platform scalability and supportability. 
  • Evaluate declarative versus programmatic solutions and recommend the most effective approach based on business need, complexity, and maintainability. 

 Platform Configuration & Administration Support 

  • Configure and maintain standard and custom objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, approval processes, flows, and other platform features. 
  • Support ongoing optimization of Salesforce configuration to improve usability, performance, and adoption. 
  • Establish and maintain standards for naming conventions, field usage, picklists, report folders, dashboards, and other system elements to improve consistency and user experience. 
  • Partner with administrators and business stakeholders to ensure configuration changes are aligned with governance standards and downstream impacts are understood. 

 Integration & Data Management 

  • Design, build, and support integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and other integration tools. 
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, data sync failures, and system exceptions across connected applications. 
  • Support data migration, data loads, data transformation, and data cleansing activities as needed for projects and releases. 
  • Help ensure data integrity across Salesforce and integrated systems by identifying root causes of data issues and recommending corrective actions. 

 Security, Governance & Compliance 

  • Manage and maintain Salesforce security settings, including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy, sharing rules, and field-level security. 
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of security, configuration, and platform usage to ensure compliance with internal standards and best practices. 
  • Support governance processes related to change management, documentation, release readiness, and technical design standards. 
  • Identify technical debt, risk, and platform improvement opportunities and provide recommendations for remediation. 

 Testing, Deployment & Release Management 

  • Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards, testing discipline, and development best practices. 
  • Write and maintain unit tests and support automated testing to ensure quality, reliability, and deployment readiness. 
  • Follow DevOps and release management practices using tools such as Gearset, Copado, Salesforce DX, or comparable CI/CD solutions. 
  • Assist with sandbox strategy, refreshes, release deployments, regression testing, and post-deployment validation. 
  • Support production releases and resolve issues arising from deployments in a timely manner. 

 Documentation & Technical Support 

  • Create and maintain clear documentation for system design, technical specifications, code, configuration, processes, and support procedures. 
  • Author requirements, definition, design, and other project and system documentation as needed. 
  • Identify and translate user requirements into business, functional, technical, and test scenarios for projects of varying size and complexity. 
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for Salesforce-related incidents, service requests, and production issues. 
  • Troubleshoot defects and work with stakeholders to prioritize and resolve issues effectively. 

 Collaboration & Leadership 

  • Partner with business stakeholders, Salesforce administrators, analysts, QA resources, and external vendors to deliver effective solutions. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, administrators, or contractors as needed. 
  • Participate in backlog refinement, project planning, effort estimation, and prioritization discussions. 
  • Communicate technical concepts, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards, support processes, platform governance, and overall system usability. 

Other 

  • Support additional platform, integration, release, and cross-functional initiatives as needed. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience  or equivalent combination of education and practical experience. 
  • 4–7+ years of Salesforce development experience with hands-on experience in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, SOSL, Flows, and Salesforce platform development best practices. 
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying Salesforce solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements. 
  • Experience building and supporting Salesforce solutions across key platform capabilities, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, and related business processes. 
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce integrations, data models, security concepts, and platform configuration, including REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, sharing rules, permission sets, deployment processes, and release management practices. 
  • Experience with Salesforce development lifecycle processes, including source control, code reviews, automated testing, Salesforce DX, Copado, Gearset, or similar DevOps and deployment tools. 
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and experience partnering with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve Salesforce platform, integration, data, and performance-related issues. 
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users. 
  • Experience supporting Salesforce environments with evolving business processes, integrations, data updates, enhancements, and ongoing platform improvements. 
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while ensuring solutions meet organizational standards for quality, security, compliance, and performance. 

Salesforce Certifications 

Candidates should hold several of the following Salesforce certifications: 

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (required) 
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II (strongly preferred) 
  • Salesforce Administrator 
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator (preferred) 
  • Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant 
  • Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant 
  • Salesforce CPQ Specialist (a plus) 
  • Salesforce Application Architect (preferred) 
  • Salesforce Sharing and Visibility Designer (a plus) 
  • Salesforce JavaScript Developer I (a plus) 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • This role is remote and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.   
  • It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.   
  • Work hours and schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.  

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Perform tasks in a home office environment with frequent virtual meetings, communications, and interruptions, requiring effective time management and prioritization.  
  • Prolonged sitting with sustained visual focus on digital screens, requiring the ability to interact at a typical working distance.  
  • Frequent use of keyboard and mouse, involving repetitive hand movements and fine motor skills for typing, navigating, and handling materials.  
  • Occasionally adjust position or move within the workspace to reach, retrieve, or access items, involving bending, twisting, or reaching, and occasionally lifting or carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds. 
  • Travel requirements: Minimal (less than 10%)
