Temporary Reporter & Writer, CMO

Seeking experienced reporter and writer to assist in creating content. You will support the team building the Forbes CMO List’s editorial package.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing sharp, compelling 400-600 word bios/blurbs that highlight why each of the CMOs on our list made the list. These should be in the style of the previous year’s versions of same (there are differences in style and focus between the two lists.) For reference: 2024 Forbes World’s Most Influential CMOs List
  • Fact-checking the bios and nominee submissions.
  • Write 1000-1200 word features on two honorees, as determined by the Forbes editor. Will require comfort contacting and interviewing sources, many of whom are powerful people in business. For reference: 2024 Forbes Entrepreneurial CMO 50 List
  • Drafts, rewrites, fact-checking, and finals are expected to be submitted in tranches.
  • Update the CMO Hall of Fame bios and blurbs.
  • Prepare social media posts for 10 honorees for each list.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Subject matter expertise.
  • An ability to meet consistent deadlines with high-level time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Research experience.
  • Attention to detail in fact-checking.
  • Flexibility and an interest to pitch in where needed.

The hourly rate for this role is $25.00 - $45.00

Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.  The compensation range is what we believe we will offer, and ultimately pay, a successful candidate.  In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
