
Forbes Summer 2025 Sales Intern

Forbes Media is seeking a Summer Intern to join our fast-paced Sales team. Reporting into the Director, Sales Development, our Sales Interns serve as key members of the sales team who are responsible for managing the full lifecycle of advertising partnerships from start to finish. This includes preparing sales proposals, collecting research information, providing clients with rates, creative specifications, edit calendars, managing deadlines, providing optimal client service support to help move the sale from pitch to IO, managing the transition from pre to post sale, and support the Account Management team as needed through the duration of all programs.
Our office operates as a remote and hybrid workforce, with in-person collaboration expected for certain roles. Based on the responsibilities of this position, a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of two in-person collaboration days per week at our Jersey City, NJ headquarters is expected.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day support of the integrated sales team through development of media plans and decks, and marketing collateral for advertising proposals and sales calls.
- Prepare proposals - proactive and in response to RFPs – that are accurate, strategic, creative, meet objectives, and submitted on time to best deliver the client expectations (KPIs) while maintaining Forbes Media pricing integrity.
- Possess a solid understanding of Forbes Media products, audiences, offerings, and capabilities.
- Leverage research databases (Comscore, MEMRI, Media Radar Looker Dashboards, etc.) to produce compelling sales
- Collaborate with the ForbesLive, Social Sales, Content (BrandVoice), Insights, Strategic Sales, Programmatic and Marketing teams on proposal development to drive sales from pitch to IO.
- Understand Forbes.com inventory and traffic patterns to effectively put together media plans
customized to each client’s goals and objectives - Work across the organization to utilize historical data, benchmarks, case studies and recaps to
support strategic decisions about new sales programs. - Work closely with and communicate directly with client/agency contacts daily during
the initial sale process, from pitch to IO, and post sales once programs are live. - Serve as primary liaison externally between the agency/client and Forbes for all advertising needs and inquiries during the initial sales process.
- Serve as primary liaison internally with Forbes support teams such as Sales Ops and Ad Ops throughout sale process to confirm targeting capabilities, inventory availability, and reporting capabilities
- Serve as liaison between client/agency and Forbes’ Billing department to ensure all programs are billed properly and payment is collected on schedule
- Ensure all necessary tasks - such as Processing IOs, trafficking necessary paperwork, setting up internal communication channels, and working with Account Manager to implement all campaign elements - are done in in a timely manner to ensure campaigns launch on schedule
- Work with Account Manager and Ad Ops on campaign management elements including inventory management, bookings/re-bookings, and finding efficient & effective solutions to problems that arise during campaign
- Create and provide screenshot decks to client following the launch of new programs
- Accompany Sales Reps on select and relevant sales calls
- Attend and support live events sponsored by clients post sale
- Administrative tasks such as issue mailings, database management, expense report preparation and occasional client event planning.
Requirements:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- 6 months to 1 year of internship experience in one of the following areas: strategic planning (experience at an agency or with a publisher), digital sales, or a related field
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, efficiently manage time and prioritize deliverables
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for internal and external
relationship management - Self-motivated to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Ability to work with multiple personalities and collaborate effectively across several different teams
- Team-first mindset, with understanding that individual success comes as byproduct of team success
- Eager to learn, work in different capacities, and take on new challenges
- Detail oriented
About Our Summer Intern Program
- Our internships are paid.
- 40 hours/week
- This internship will take place from June 9 to August 15.
The hourly rate for this role is $21.00 - $21.00.
Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith. The compensation range is what we believe we will offer, and ultimately pay, a successful candidate. In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
