
Sr. Payroll Specialist

Forbes is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist who will assist in the monthly responsibilities of the payroll department. This role will report into the Payroll Director.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Director of Payroll to ensure accurate operations of the payroll functions with minimal errors
- Ensure accurate processing of semi-monthly payrolls for over 500 regular, temporary & seasonal employees both domestic & international using ADP Workforce Now.
- Collect and process data in HRIS and Payroll systems, including new hires, terminations, employment changes (supervisor & job title changes, etc.), payroll and tax related data
- Process child support and garnishment orders
- Review timesheets and facilitate timecard approvals/processing
- Coordinate with employees, department managers, Human Resources, and Finance & Accounting staff to resolve payroll-related issues as they arise
- Review & update 401(k) deferral changes in payroll system
- Maintain compliance with company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal laws
- Continually enhance and update process documentation
- Assist year-end payroll reporting and preparation of W-2 forms
- Assist with various audits and provide information to auditors as needed
- Assist in updating data that feeds into the payroll forecast in Workday Adaptive.
The ideal candidate:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2-4 years payroll experience required; experience processing multi-state and/or international payroll preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
- Experience with union populations preferred
- Must be comfortable working in multiple systems pulling reports and entering data
- Current knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding payroll
- Proficiency in Excel: formulas, vlookups, pivot tables
- Must possess problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential material and communicate with various levels of management
The annual base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000.
