The Role:

Forge is seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to oversee Forge Data. This individual will oversee Forge’s Data business by developing our go-to-market strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding product offerings – including Forge’s proprietary pricing data, content and insights, and private market indices. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this leader will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Business Development to deliver innovative data solutions to private market participants.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic operator with a track record of scaling businesses, building high-performing teams, and translating market needs into product and commercial success. This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility across the executive team and board.

Location: This role requires a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days per week in our San Francisco, CA office to foster collaboration and teamwork and requires periodic travel to Forge offices and client locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the full P&L for Forge’s Data Business Unit, driving scalable revenue growth and long-term profitability.
  • Define and execute a compelling GTM strategy across customer segments, including institutional and individual investors, wealth and data platforms.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across research, product innovation, and business implementation.
  • Manage and expand Forge’s channel footprint through distribution partnerships.
  • Set research agenda, manage new product pipeline. Ensure Forge has the right product offerings to meet evolving investment trends and investor needs.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure offerings meet evolving client needs, with an emphasis on innovation, data quality, and actionable insights.
  • Partner with Marketing to drive messaging, content creation, value proposition development, and lead generation initiatives.
  • Establish, monitor, and deliver on key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue targets, customer adoption metrics, and retention goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients and partners to drive adoption and gather product feedback.
  • Represent Forge Data internally and externally, contributing to board-level updates, thought leadership, and industry presence.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in business leadership, including P&L ownership.
  • Proven success in launching and scaling data products within financial services, fintech, or capital markets.
  • Deep understanding of market and pricing data, index and portfolio construction, and data content strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable outcomes in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Experience in the private market ecosystem, particularly in late-stage growth equity and secondary market trading.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in hiring, developing, and managing diverse and inclusive teams.
  • Physical requirements: operate a computer for 8 hours per day; give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading or collaborating with quantitative and fundamental researchers.
  • Familiarity with derived data products such as indexes or derived pricing models.
  • Background working in high-growth, scaling environments or technology startups.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to represent the business to clients, partners, and the board.
  • Personal alignment with Forge’s mission to expand access and transparency in private market investing.

For residents of San Francisco, CA the annual salary range for this role is $310,000 - $340,000 + annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
