The Role: 

The Forge IT Operations team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the corporate infrastructure that delivers reliable, secure operation of our corporate IT ecosystem and SaaS services.  

In this role, you will be responsible for the hands-on configuration and administration of the network and endpoint infrastructure to ensure that Forge employees can efficiently and securely perform their day-to-day duties. The IT Network and MDM Engineer will design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network and endpoints. You will be part of the IT Operations team responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, available infrastructure architectures that meet our business objectives.  

You will work closely across the IT Operation team to continuously improve and automate our ability to perform and adjust to new challenges.  

You love working with a skilled, energetic, and motivated team and are passionate about providing high-quality operational support while continuously improving quality, automating, and honing your skills. You are motivated, goal-oriented, persistent, and a skilled negotiator. You will strive to implement a strategy of service management and operational best practices relevant to Forge’s corporate infrastructure with a strategic view to meet the current needs while considering future direction.  

In this role, you will be called upon to display initiative toward improvement and optimization. Our ideal candidate will have over five years of experience managing network infrastructure and endpoints, experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Ubiquiti network technologies and Microsoft Intune, excellent documentation, communication, and project management skills, and aspires to join a high-performance team of technology enthusiasts providing quality customer service and effective technical solutions, in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.   


Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:  

  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) 
  • Maintain Microsoft 365/Intune configuration, administration and deployments 
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations 
  • Own and administer organizations on macOS management platform Iru - (formerly Kandji) to ensure all devices meet security, compliance and operational standards.  
  • Manage and maintain device lifecycle using Microsoft Intune (Windows). 
  • Within MDM - design, implement, and maintain automated policies for deployment. 
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. • Provide Level-3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues 
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the infrastructure 
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures with the company’s security team 
  • Operational responsibility for the network and endpoint infrastructure 
  • Participate in the testing and evaluation of new technologies 
  • And any other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:  

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience 
  • 5+ years of Network Engineer/Administration experience 
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies, configuration, and administration. (e.g., Active Directory, Intune, Office, Azure) 
  • Hands-on network engineering and scripting experience 
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) 
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools 
  • Physical requirements: operate a computer for 8 hours per day; give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in leading process improvement and organization change initiatives 
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued) 
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation tools 
  • Experience with SaaS administration 
  • Working knowledge of ITIL framework 
  • Knowledge of tools used in ITSM environment 

For residents of XXX the annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000+ annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
