What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Analytics Lead, the Senior Analytics Engineer will be part of the Analytics & Data Science team in our growing Pune office. You will be critical in the evolution of our next-generation Databricks/Spark-based data platform and help scale our ecosystem along with our processing ever-increasing volumes of data. You'll take advantage of burst scaling and distributed computing paradigms in our back-end pipeline. You'll participate in our team discussions on solution implementation and design explorations and work on custom customer-specific extensions or features.
A bit more about the team:
Forma.ai’s sales compensation data platform continually expands in complexity with thousands of commission variables maintained through internal and external APIs with the growth of our client base. Our product interfaces with both internal teams and directly with customers, and the Analytics and Data Science team is the bridge between our Customers and our Engineers. We work closely with various teams across the organization such as Customer Delivery, Engineering and Product, to learn about our customers’ businesses and configure the Forma.ai platform to best support their incentive compensation programs.
You will:
- Be ready to collaborate closely with North American team to establish support and enforce best practices for existing customers and onboard new ones.
- Supporting new customer onboarding, urgent engineering escalations, and security operations.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot automation of workflows and processes to increase team efficiency and standardization using Python.
- Migrate existing data pipelines to new architecture (i.e. Databricks) while maintaining advocacy for product quality, security and optimal performance.
- Ship and develop features/enhancements with minimal guidance from team. (i.e. build expanded capability to data pipelines).

- Mentor junior employees on daily tasks and ongoing projects as needed
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years with significant professional experience in Python or similar languages.
- Someone who wants a hybrid role in engineering and data.
- Disclose technical product issues across multiple teams like Product and Customer Onboarding teams in different time zones.
- Self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in SQL and has a background in traditional relational databases with experience coding, testing, and deploying ETL pipelines.
- Solve complex technical problems and own project from conception to production.
- Communicate effectively and regularly to achieve alignment with peers while providing clear status updates.
- Ability to work in an agile and iterative software development process with strong attention to detail in ensuring data accuracy.
- Have strong customer empathy and interest in being involved in the product direction.
Nice to haves:
- Background in building end to end data pipelines with experience using platforms like Spark (ideally paired with Databricks).
- Work in ETL technologies.
