Senior Software Engineering Manager - NYC

Onsite/NYC, NY - Full-Time

Summary

The role of the Senior Software Engineering Manager provides strategic and technical leadership across multiple teams, owning delivery outcomes for complex Java, data engineering, and cloud initiatives. This role drives architecture, scale, and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple engineering teams (10+ engineers) delivering high-impact software and data platforms.
  • Define and evolve technical architecture and engineering standards for Java applications, APIs, data pipelines, and AWS-based solutions.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align engineering execution with business strategy and roadmap priorities.
  • Drive large-scale cloud and data initiatives, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Establish engineering best practices around security, performance, CI/CD, and observability.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in engineering management.
  • 9+ years of deep expertise in professional Java development.
  • 4+ yrs demonstrated experience with AWS, and data engineering concepts.
  • Proven experience scaling teams, systems, and delivery processes.
  • Strong executive communication skills and experience influencing at senior leadership levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Location Requirements

  • This role is an on-site role in NYC, NY
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: NY, NJ, or CT.
  • Candidates residing outside these states are not currently eligible for consideration.  
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency. The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. 

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc. 

Estimated Compensation Range:

$171,647 - $208,429 USD
