Salesforce Certified Consultant – Public Sector / Government Cloud

Remote/United States - Full-Time

SUMMARY

FormativGroup is seeking an experienced Salesforce Certified Consultant with strong expertise supporting Public Sector and Government Cloud initiatives. This role is responsible for partnering with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical resources to design, configure, optimize, and support scalable Salesforce solutions across Government Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud environments.

The ideal candidate combines strong Salesforce platform knowledge with consultative business analysis, stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, solution configuration, and process optimization capabilities. This individual will serve as a strategic liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring Salesforce solutions align with operational goals, compliance requirements, and user experience expectations within regulated Public Sector environments.

This is a highly collaborative and client-facing role requiring excellent communication skills, business process expertise, solution-oriented thinking, and the ability to work effectively within Agile consulting teams.

This is a remote project supporting a Public Sector / Government Cloud initiative, with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

RESPNSIBILITIES

  • Partner with client stakeholders, business users, and delivery teams to gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements across Salesforce Government Cloud implementations.
  • Design and configure Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related Salesforce platform technologies using declarative functionality and platform best practices.
  • Translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions including Flows, page layouts, validation rules, record types, approval processes, dashboards, reports, and security configurations.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, backlog grooming, user story development, and solution review meetings with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA teams, and project managers to support end-to-end Salesforce solution delivery.
  • Support configuration and administration activities including user setup, profiles, permission sets, workflows, automation, and environment management.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and release readiness activities.
  • Assist with testing coordination, UAT preparation, defect validation, and production deployment activities.
  • Support data migration and data quality initiatives including imports, exports, cleansing, and validation activities.
  • Participate in client-facing presentations, demonstrations, training sessions, and change management activities.
  • Ensure solutions align with Salesforce platform governance, security standards, and Government Cloud compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with integration and technical teams to support API-driven processes and connected system workflows.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including business requirements, process flows, user stories, configuration documentation, and training materials.
  • Provide consultative recommendations to optimize business processes, improve platform adoption, and enhance user experience.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Active Salesforce certifications required:
    • Salesforce Administrator - required
    • Service Cloud Consultant – is required
    • Platform Developer I, Experience Cloud Consultant, Salesforce Advanced Administrator, Salesforce Business Analyst – is a bonus
  • 5+ years of Salesforce consulting, administration, business analysis, or solution configuration experience within enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience supporting Public Sector and Government Cloud Salesforce implementations and prior experience supporting federal, state, or local government agencies.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Salesforce Service Cloud
    • Salesforce Experience Cloud
    • Salesforce Flows and declarative automation
    • Salesforce security and access management
    • Salesforce reporting and dashboards
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, configuration, data model, and business process optimization.
  • Experience gathering and documenting functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions while collaborating effectively with technical delivery teams.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage directly with clients and executive users.
  • Experience supporting regulated, compliance-driven, or government-focused environments preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced consulting engagements.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Cannabis industry experience highly preferred
  • Experience working within Salesforce consulting, systems integrator (SI), or professional services organizations.
  • Exposure to Salesforce Government Cloud Plus (GovCloud Plus).
  • Familiarity with Copado, Gearset, Git, Azure DevOps, or Salesforce DevOps processes.
  • Exposure to MuleSoft or enterprise integration platforms.
  • Experience supporting Experience Cloud portals, digital experiences, and community-based solutions.
  • Exposure to Salesforce AI capabilities including Einstein AI, Agentforce, or GenAI-enabled Salesforce tools.
  • Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce migrations, modernization initiatives, or multi-org implementations.
  • Business process reengineering and change management experience strongly preferred.

LOCATION

  • This role is a US-based remote role with potential travel.
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PATN, TX, VA, WI, and Washington DC.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency. The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. 

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc. 

Estimated Compensation Range:

$110,000 - $155,000 USD
