Salesforce QA Engineer - Public Sector / Government Cloud

Summary

FormativGroup is seeking an experienced Salesforce QA Engineer with strong expertise supporting Public Sector and Government Cloud implementations. This role is responsible for validating, testing, and ensuring the quality, stability, security, and performance of Salesforce solutions across Government Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud environments.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of manual and automated Salesforce testing experience, Agile delivery expertise, and an understanding of complex enterprise Salesforce ecosystems. This individual will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, administrators, architects, and client stakeholders to validate business requirements, test integrations, support release cycles, and ensure high-quality platform delivery within regulated environments.

This is a highly collaborative and client-facing role requiring strong communication skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively within fast-paced Agile consulting environments.

This is a remote project supporting a Public Sector / Government Cloud initiative, with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies and test plans across Salesforce Government Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud implementations.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, and end-to-end testing across complex Salesforce solutions and integrations.
  • Validate Salesforce configurations, Flows, Lightning components, Apex functionality, APIs, security models, and custom platform enhancements.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, and project teams to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and business processes.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and regression suites utilizing Copado and related Salesforce testing tools.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, retrospectives, and release readiness activities.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution while partnering closely with development teams on root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Validate data integrity, migration accuracy, and platform behavior across environments and deployments.
  • Ensure Salesforce solutions comply with security, governance, accessibility, and regulatory requirements within Government Cloud environments.
  • Support CI/CD deployment validation, release management activities, and production readiness testing.
  • Execute API and integration testing involving MuleSoft, middleware platforms, and external enterprise systems.
  • Participate in client-facing discussions, testing reviews, and UAT coordination sessions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate QA documentation including test cases, test scripts, traceability matrices, defect logs, and release validation reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across QA processes, automation frameworks, and Agile delivery practices.

 

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce QA, Quality Engineering, or Salesforce testing roles within enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience supporting Public Sector and Government Cloud Salesforce implementations.
  • Extensive experience Building and Executing automated test scripts using test automation tools.
  • Strong hands-on experience testing Salesforce platforms including:
    • Government Cloud
    • Service Cloud
    • Experience Cloud
    • Lightning Experience
    • Salesforce Flows and declarative automation
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform functionality, security models, user roles, profiles, and sharing architecture.
  • Experience performing:
    • Functional testing
    • Regression testing
    • Integration testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • End-to-end testing
    • API testing
  • Experience utilizing Copado for Salesforce DevOps, automated testing, and release validation.
  • Experience validating integrations involving APIs, web services, middleware, and external systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies and release cycles.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and process discipline.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in client-facing environments.
  • Experience working within regulated, compliance-driven, or government-focused delivery environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document defects, testing outcomes, and validation results.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Cannabis industry experience highly preferred
  • Salesforce certifications such as:
    • Salesforce Administrator
    • Salesforce Advanced Administrator
    • Salesforce Business Analyst
    • Salesforce Platform App Builder
  • Experience working within Salesforce consulting, systems integrator (SI), or professional services environments.
  • Exposure to MuleSoft or enterprise integration platforms.
  • Experience with additional Salesforce DevOps and automation tools including:
    • Gearset
    • Git
    • Jenkins
    • Azure DevOps
    • Selenium
    • Provar
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Experience Cloud sites, portals, and digital experiences.
  • Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce migrations, modernization initiatives, or multi-org implementations.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled Salesforce tools including Einstein AI, Agentforce, or GenAI-assisted workflows.
  • Business Analyst experience considered highly advantageous.

 

LOCATION

  • This role is a US-based remote role with potential travel.
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PATN, TX, VA, WI, and Washington DC.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency. The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. 

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc. 

Estimated Compensation Range:

$115,000 - $155,000 USD
