POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Analytical Laboratory Technician will play a key role in supporting the R&D team’s efforts to develop more sustainable cement and construction materials. This role involves performing a variety of chemical and physical analyses on samples, working with cutting-edge analytical instruments, and supporting the ongoing development and optimization of testing methods. The position requires the technician to be highly skilled in sample handling, instrument operation, and data analysis, with a focus on maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency to ensure reliable results. The technician will also support laboratory maintenance and safety protocols, contributing to a safe and efficient research environment.
The role requires a strong understanding of laboratory practices, the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, and the flexibility to contribute to a diverse set of tasks, from routine testing to supporting new research initiatives. The position will provide exposure to advanced laboratory technologies and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the development of innovative solutions in cement sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow SOPs while completing general lab work and chemical experiments
- Operate analytical instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition
- Ensure accurate and consistent sample handling and processing to maintain data integrity
- Assist others in the development and validation of new testing methods
- Work closely with other team members to support ongoing research projects and initiatives
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment in the laboratory
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 1+ years’ experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to move/lift up to 50lbs during the course of the workday.
- Ability to perform tests in a consistent and repeatable fashion.
- Willingness to work in a team and communicate data.
- A "can-do" attitude and eagerness to learn.
COMPENSATION:
The hourly range for this job is $23.00 - $27.00, commensurate with experience.
