Job Summary:
Piper Fire’s Sarasota, FL branch is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Construction Sales Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for estimating and quoting fire sprinkler systems for new construction projects, while also promoting and selling fire protection solutions within an assigned territory.
The Estimator will work closely with general contractors and end users to qualify potential buyers, schedule sales calls, follow up on leads, and utilize marketing strategies to drive business growth. Candidates must have prior experience in the fire sprinkler industry and demonstrate the ability to build strong business relationships and deliver accurate project estimates.
**This role is also commission eligible**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction with products and services.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, architectural and mechanical drawings, and apply knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 standards as well as local codes.
- Identify customer needs and develop strategic sales approaches to grow business relationships.
- Prospect and qualify potential buyers for fire protection contracts through scheduled calls, lead follow-ups, and targeted marketing strategies.
- Drive new business development by networking, cold calling, performing site surveys, and delivering presentations.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to coordinate sales-related activities and ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain detailed records of activities in the CRM system.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests.
- Adhere to the sales plan to achieve established goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Travel to customer locations and job sites as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with fire sprinkler systems.
- Proven track record of leadership or sales success in the fire protection/life safety industry.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 standards.
- Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience selling in the fire protection industry.
- NICET certification.
- Previous sprinkler design experience, including estimating and performing hydraulic calculations.
This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
