We are looking for a Director of Finance to own the finance function end-to-end.  This leader will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and operational excellence of all financial processes, while acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team and managing 1 direct report. 

In this role you will:

  • Own the accounting & finance function, including the close process, AP/AR, payroll, and banking operations
  • Own company financials: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and SaaS-specific revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Ensure full tax compliance including sales tax, federal/state filings, R&D support, and other ad hoc requirements
  • Own compensation planning & commission 
  • Lead investor reporting and other external financial reporting
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and finance systems/tools
  • Partner with HR on compensation, benefits, and headcount planning
  • Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisions
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the leadership team on business decisions

About you:

  • 6 - 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting, ideally within B2B SaaS
  • Direct ownership of both accounting and corporate finance functions
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SaaS revenue recognition, and SaaS metrics (ARR, GRR, NDR, CAC, LTV, churn, burn multiple and etc)
  • Proven experience managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Hands-on expertise with sales commissions and compensation plans
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves on admin and tactical tasks while thinking strategically
  • Exposure to HR processes and light legal/compliance work at a startup or scaling company
  • Experience managing at least one direct report
  • Exceptional communication skills with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with leadership team
  • Thrives in a fast-moving startup environment (previous startup experience a must)

Strong advantage if you also have:

  • Experience managing AWS or other cloud infrastructure costs
  • Exposure to HR and benefits programs
  • Experience with investor reporting or supporting fundraising efforts
  • Experience with international operations

The annual cash compensation range for this position is $160,000 - 200,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed.
