What will you be doing?
As the Instructional Coach at Foundation Academies, you will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding teachers to implement best instructional practices that foster academic success for K-8 scholars. You will:
- Provide individualized coaching and support to teachers in classroom management, lesson planning, lesson execution, and differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Co-teach in classrooms to model effective instructional practices and provide real-time feedback to teachers.
- Analyze student performance data to identify areas of growth and support teachers in adjusting instruction to meet student needs.
- Develop and facilitate professional development workshops focused on instructional strategies and academic interventions.
- Track and support the implementation of academic interventions to address gaps in student performance.
- Observe and provide actionable feedback on teachers’ lesson delivery and classroom management practices.
- Support teachers in creating and maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning, with an emphasis on student engagement and effective behavior management.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to implement and analyze assessment data, ensuring that instructional practices are aligned with student performance.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Learning & Development to ensure alignment with the school's instructional goals.
- Maintain strong relationships with teachers, offering guidance and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in leadership team meetings, providing insights into instructional practices and supporting school-wide initiatives.
- Model exceptional leadership skills by demonstrating self-awareness, accountability, and emotional intelligence in interactions with teachers.
What do we require from you?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in English, Literacy, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of exceptional teaching experience with proven high student achievement. Experience in curriculum development, teacher coaching, and leading school culture initiatives.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and attention to detail skills.
- Strong organization and process skills.
- Other: Successful completion of Aspiring Leader Academy. Successfully complete criminal clearance (fingerprinting) as required. Obtain medical clearance (TB/Mantoux testing) as required by NJDOE.
Preferred:
- Experience working in an urban setting
- Proven ability to track measurable success and achievement
