What will you be doing?

  • Maintain a productive and respectful classroom environment in alignment with Foundation Academies’ policies and values
  • Execute lesson plans left by the classroom teacher with fidelity and engagement
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of all scholars throughout the day
  • Communicate effectively with school leadership and staff about any classroom or scholar needs
  • Model professionalism, compassion, and a growth mindset in interactions with scholars and colleagues
  • Complete attendance and classroom documentation as needed

What do we require from you?

  • Hold a valid New Jersey Substitute Teaching Credential or be eligible and willing to obtain one
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet all state-mandated requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to different classrooms and grade levels
  • Commitment to Foundation Academies’ mission, values, and commitment to educational equity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foundation Academies alumni, aspiring educators, or individuals seeking pathways into full-time teaching roles are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with children or in school settings is a plus
