What will you be doing?
As a Data Support Specialist, you will work closely with the Senior Manager and academic leadership teams to ensure our schools are informed by accurate, actionable data. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Data Management: Assist with cleaning, organizing, and analyzing academic datasets, including iReady, MAP, and other internal assessments.
- Report Creation: Create reports, visualizations, graphs, and presentation slides to help stakeholders understand school performance.
- Performance Metrics: Support calculations for key metrics such as student progress, teacher retention, and other indicators tied to academic excellence.
- SOP Development: Help write and update Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency in data handling and reporting.
- Test Administration Support: Assist with organizing assessments and maintaining data accuracy throughout the testing process.
- Data Integration: Help integrate data across various systems like Tableau, NJSmart, and internal platforms to ensure complete and aligned reporting.
- Participate in school and organization-wide family events and support school initiatives when needed.
What do we require from you?
- Bachelor’s degree required; background in education, data analysis, information systems, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in a school or educational setting, especially in an urban environment, is preferred
- Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with data platforms such as iReady, MAP, Tableau, or NJSmart
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of data integrity and confidentiality

- Semifinalist candidates will be required to provide unofficial transcripts, evidence of certification/eligibility, and 3 professional references.
- Hired candidates are responsible for the following: official transcripts, criminal clearance (fingerprinting), and medical clearance (TB/Mantoux testing).
