Commercial Lines Account Manager
Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firm in the US, is adding a Commercial Lines Account Manager to their Doxsee Foster team in Woodland Hills, California.
Job Summary: Support producer(s) AND or Manager in the development and service of accounts. Provide clients with exceptional service during the policy year; assure successful renewal marketing; act as mentor to Technical Assistant (if applicable). Demonstrate support of agency business objectives and viewed as a positive role model and team player. Marketing of new business a significant aspect of the day to day duties of this role.
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Market new business as assigned by producer and or Manager
- Review and analyze information provided by producer; secure additional information from client/prospect when necessary; independently make recommendations regarding coverages and exposures; prepare applications in accordance with the agency's automation standards; submit information to carriers and independently negotiate placement.
- Prepare proposal and present to insured (in person, mail, phone, etc.)
- Finalize the issuance of coverage
- Order coverage
- Verify that all files, paper and electronic, meet the standards set by the agency
Insurance Carrier Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ongoing knowledge of the current marketplace
- Maintain contact and establish rapport with insurance carrier underwriters.
- Maintain skills and knowledge of insurance contracts by taking classes and or webinars.
- Maintain knowledge of various carrier rating programs and website service features
- Thorough understanding of coverage differences between carriers and policy forms
Service Responsibilities:
- Market renewal business as needed to provide the client with the most comprehensive coverage and competitive pricing. If marketing, complete and accurate submissions to be forwarded to carriers no later than 30 days prior to renewal.
- Handle all client service requests according to agency standards, and if applicable, utilizing the support of a Technical Assistant.
- Process incoming policies, assure accuracy of paper and electronic files, and transmit policies to client. As most policies are direct billed, make sure that the accounts are renewed in advance of expiration. See Monday reports.
- Process endorsements in a timely manner. Requests should be sent to carrier within 24 hours of receiving from client.
- Follow up on all suspended items in accordance with agency procedures
- Handle incoming phone calls from clients and respond to requests in a timely manner. Agency goal is to return calls within same day.
- Issue Binders, Certificates of Insurance, Evidences of Insurance and Auto ID cards (all within the authority of the agency.
- Invoice all agency bill items within agency-defined guidelines.
- Prepare and transmit Schedules of Insurance as requested. Goal is to update coverage prior to renewal.
- Prepare and process premium finance agreements.
- Provide Accounting Department with assistance in collecting accounts receivable.
- Assure that work delegated to the Technical Assistant is completed accurately and professionally.
- Complete documentation of phone calls and attachments/activities to be added to client file in EPIC (including phone calls, and other service related activities)
- Present a professional and friendly demeanor when speaking to clients and or carriers. Goal is to develop a positive rapport and relationship.
- Review accounts for the opportunity to "round out'' and/or provide additional coverages.
- Look for opportunities to expand the client relationship to write coverages within other departments (Personal Lines, Benefits, Life, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the agency standards and procedures for account processing and automation
- Participate in or direct special projects as assigned by Management
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and support of overall agency objectives.
Qualifications:
- Current California Property and Casualty license. Designations (CPCU, CIC, CSR) preferred.
- 7-15 years of experience handling Commercial accounts (manufacturing, Lessors Risk, General Property & Casualty coverages).
- Thorough knowledge of the coverages, underwriting and rating of Commercial Lines insurance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with agency automation systems. EPIC experience required.
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
This range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of FRP's total compensation package for employees.
Pay Transparency Range
$70,000 - $80,000 USD
