Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to lead our regional accounting team and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our financial operations. This role will oversee the full accounting cycle, including financial reporting, budgeting, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
The Senior Accounting Manager will serve as a key business partner to senior leadership, providing insights that support strategic decision-making while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring their skills are effectively utilized and that they meet performance
- Fostering a collaborative and positive team culture that promotes accountability, open communication, and continuous
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant regulations for European entities.
- Establishing and maintaining strong internal control processes to safeguard assets and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
- Monitoring changes in accounting regulations and standards and implementing necessary updates to maintain compliance.
- Coordinating the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors to provide required documentation and support.
- Collaborating with internal and external tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance.
- Identifying opportunities for process optimization within the accounting function to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as FP&A, HR, Legal, Sales and Operations, IT, to address financial implications of business initiatives and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Participating to initiatives to enhance financial performance, operational efficiency, and overall company growth.
Experience & Skills
- 8-12 years experience in senior Accounting / finance roles
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Very good knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience working with external auditors.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills to grow talent.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team culture.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and analyses.
- Strong grasp of internal controls, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with evolving accounting regulations and ability to implement changes.
- Hands-on experience coordinating external audits and managing auditor relationships.
- Solid understanding of tax compliance, ideally with experience working closely with tax professionals.
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements in accounting/finance.
- Experience with accounting systems, ERP tools, and financial reporting software.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills to translate financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders.
- Understanding of how accounting impacts overall business performance and growth.
- Ability to balance compliance with business needs.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
