DESCRIPTION:
The Site Lead position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group.
The Site Lead is responsible for training and supporting a talented team of mining technicians and creating a productive and efficient mining facility. In addition, the Site Lead is responsible for driving a culture of professionalism, operational excellence, and creating a place where people love to work and build a career.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess good communication skills, excellent organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions, and project management experience. The Site Lead must understand the technical aspects of cryptocurrency mining, support day-to-day business operations, ensure efficient operation of facilities, mitigate risk, and ensure that mining operations meet the needs of clients.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the on-site lead for co-located or remote mining operations, providing autonomous site management when needed.
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of mining hardware to ensure peak operational efficiency.
- Serve as interim Site Manager during absences, supporting uninterrupted site operations and team leadership.
- Support the Regional Manager and/or Site Operations Manager in managing workflows, executing deployments, and maintaining site infrastructure.
- Lead complex miner diagnostics and repairs, infrastructure upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with customer support teams to ensure prompt issue resolution and a positive client experience.
- Manage site logistics, including equipment delivery, installation timelines, and travel coordination for deployments.
- Uphold safety, compliance, and quality standards across all areas of site operations.
- Use project management and operational tools to track KPIs, identify risks, and ensure targets are met.
- Contribute to training and mentoring efforts for on-site technicians to support skill development and operational excellence.
ABOUT YOU:
Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience leading on-site teams, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor technicians, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain team performance and accountability.
- Experience tracking and reporting on KPIs and site-level performance metrics, with a focus on uptime, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage site-level challenges, including resource constraints and equipment troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to enforce safety protocols in a high-performance technical environment.
- Proficient in basic project coordination and workflow prioritization to meet deployment schedules and customer expectations.
- Solid understanding of miner hardware, electrical systems, networking basics, and site infrastructure operations.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic operations platforms or ticketing systems; familiarity with project or task management tools is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including on-call or after-hours support during critical site operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop, and lift (up to 75 pounds).
- Ability to work in a data center environment, which may involve exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead to perform tasks.
- Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights as required to maintain equipment.
