To excel in this role, you should possess a proven knack for bug-hunting, regression & exploratory testing, and building out automated testing scripts for end-to-end workflows. You should also possess strong communication & collaboration skills across different team roles, as well as a curious & proactive mindset.

The Fountain Engineering team is organized into product squads, each responsible for independently owning the product's quality and health. The teams are the domain experts of their products, are always looking to improve their operation, and iterate rapidly to develop new features. We build fast, and occasionally break things ;)

This role requires collaboration within a globally distributed organization, spanning different time zones, continents, and cultures (including Western and Northern Europe, USA, South Africa, Mexico, and more).

This position is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in our Guadalajara office.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing regression test on existing products end-to-end to ensure stability before releases
  • Writing and maintaining automation scripts for end-to-end workflows
  • Clearly documenting issues and improvements to the engineering team
  • Working with implementation and customer success teams to reproduce, document, and escalate user-reported issues
  • Engaging closely with product, design, and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, offering insights at every stage
  • Providing regular updates on testing progress and overall product quality to the QA team and other stakeholders
  • Assisting remote colleagues with questions about functionality that you’ve tested
  • Documenting internal-facing summaries of notable features that you’ve tested
  • Proactively identifying and addressing process improvements in collaboration with team members

What you should bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in manual QA, including experience testing on both desktop and mobile platforms
  • 3+ years of experience in writing and maintaining automated testing scripts for end-to-end workflows, ideally with Playwright or a Node.js framework
  • Ability to read and understand code with focus on early defect prevention
  • The ability to learn new concepts quickly, and be able to explain them to others
  • Understanding of agile development processes
  • Experience in issue tracking software, Linear preferred
  • Responsiveness and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective collaboration with the team
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, escalate issues proactively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience in setting up automated testing frameworks
  • Experience in B2B SaaS startup environments and remote international settings is preferred
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, Express

Even if you do not meet all the requirements above, we still encourage you to apply for this position. While we try to be thorough with our prerequisites, not everything about you as a candidate can be condensed into a list of bullet points. What do you have to lose?

  • FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT
  • Competitive health insurance plans
  • Christmas bonus
  • Flexible time off
  • Fountain-wide perks including paid holidays, annual allowances for ongoing education related to your profession and career advancement, along with home office, cell phone, and wellness reimbursements.
