Staff Accountant

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Staff Accountant to join our team supporting a small family of companies in the private aviation sector.  This role requires a professional who can manage daily transactional tasks while also contributing to the discussions on more complex, high-level accounting matters.  Your work will provide critical accounting support for our growing business that offers a comprehensive suite of services including, Aircraft Management, Charter, Acquisition and Disposition of Private Aircraft, Aircraft Appraisals and Consultation Services.

This is an in-office position located near The Star in Frisco, Texas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create client invoicing
  • Assist in processing Accounts Payable, communicating with vendors regarding payment status, invoice request and inquiries
  • Expense Report approval utilizing Concur
  • Data reconciliation between systems
  • Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Process and record daily banking activity
  • Monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Inter-co transactions and reconciliation
  • Assist with month-end close including review of financials, journal entries and reporting for multiple entities
  • Manage all company insurance policies
  • Payroll processing including journal entries and commission calculations
  • Calculation and filing of sales tax and federal excise tax
  • Maintain fixed assets and related depreciation schedules
  • Perform other duties as assigned                                                                 

The Successful Candidate Will Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Full Cycle Accounting experience
  • High Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of Month-End Close processes
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, research, problem solving, time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, being able to pivot quickly within our fast-paced organization
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes easily and remain flexible
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
