We are seeking a detail-oriented Information Assurance (IA) Security Specialist to support cybersecurity and compliance efforts in a federal environment. This position is fully onsite in Washington, DC and requires an active Secret clearance. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing security controls, supporting RMF processes, and ensuring system compliance with federal standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)  
  • Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 security controls  
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ATO packages  
  • Conduct security control assessments and vulnerability analysis  
  • Develop and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)  
  • Maintain system documentation in tools such as eMASS  
  • Collaborate with ISSOs, system owners, and technical teams  
  • Support continuous monitoring and audit readiness activities  

Required Qualifications 

  • Active Secret Clearance  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field  
  • Minimum of 5 years of Information Assurance or cybersecurity experience  
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 compliant cert)  
  • Experience with RMF and NIST 800-53  
  • Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity requirements  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with eMASS  
  • Prior experience supporting federal or DoD environments  
  • Additional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)

Washington DC Pay Range

$100,000 - $110,000 USD
