Procurement Lead

What you’ll do:
Procurement:
- Develop and implement long-term procurement strategies aligning with company goals, driving cost savings and robustness to the supply chain.
- Create forecasts, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain by developing contingency plans and ensuring supplier diversity and reliability.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure quality, pricing, identify cost savings, and delivery expectations are met.
Inventory Control:
- Maintain inventory management systems and processes to ensure accurate forecasting and stock levels.
- Optimize inventory turnover while maintaining sufficient safety stock to avoid production delays.
- Monitor and report on inventory performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless integration of inventory systems with production & field support workflows.
Team Management and Development:
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of procurement and inventory professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear goals and performance expectations for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching.
- Develop team capabilities through training programs, cross-functional projects, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure team alignment with company objectives and foster strong cross-departmental communication.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with finance to establish and manage procurement budgets, track spending, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support scaling efforts by identifying supply chain risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
- Work closely with the R&D team to understand technical requirements and secure suppliers that align with product development goals.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management.
- 5+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team and collaborate across functions to develop effective solutions.
Nice to have:
- Background in manufacturing, electronics, and metal fabrication
- Experience in implementing or optimizing ERP systems
