Franklin Covey Europe is seeking a highly skilled General Manager to lead and grow our direct office business across Europe, covering Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Ireland, and France.
Based from our European Head Office in Banbury, this role requires strong go-to market expertise and involves overseeing regional sales teams, delivery consultants, and marketing functions while ensuring seamless alignment with our corporate global strategies.
As a senior leader, you will be accountable for driving revenue growth - aiming to achieve a $30 million turnover business by 2030, whilst maintaining alignment with the global go-to-market strategy and nurturing high-performing teams. You will bring a strong understanding of European market dynamics, cultural diversity, and business environments. Comprehensive training on Franklin Covey's solutions and methodologies will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Strategic Implementation: To execute corporate strategy across the diverse European markets with limited, essential adaptations while balancing regional nuances with global objectives. To drive measurable growth in revenue, customer acquisition, and profitability.
- Cultural Leadership: To build a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability within the different functions and teams. Promoting inclusivity and respect for the diverse cultures within the region.
- Financial Oversight: To manage budgets with full P&L responsibility, ensuring efficient resource allocation and achieving an annual top-line revenue growth targets.
- Market Analysis: To oversee analysis of regional market trends, customer behaviours, and competitive landscapes to shape actionable business strategies that deliver 30%+ profitable growth.
- Communication & Accountability: To establish clear goals, set expectations, and ensure accountability across all teams. Fostering transparent communication to align priorities and deliver the necessary outcomes.
- Talent Development: To identify, recruit, and develop high-performing talent. You will need a proven, credible ability to coach and mentor leaders, teams, and encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
- Executive Presence: To represent Franklin Covey confidently in interactions with senior leaders, both internally and externally, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Commercial Expertise: To leverage experience in subscription-based business models to promote sustainable growth.
- Compliance & Ethics: To ensure all operations comply with European legal frameworks and align with Franklin Covey's ethical standards.
Sales Leadership
- Revenue Growth: To set and drive ambitious revenue targets and growth for regional sales teams, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Market Insights: To stay ahead of market trends, emerging opportunities, and competitive threats, in order to make informed strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
- Client Engagement: To build and nurture strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, serving as an executive sponsor to enhance loyalty and long-term partnerships.
- Forecasting & Planning: To develop accurate revenue forecasts for each region and sales team based on market insights and sales data.
- Coaching & Mentorship: To provide coaching to sales teams, fostering a client-centric approach and a consistent track record of success.
- Results-Driven: To have a proven ability to grow profitable businesses across mid-sized and large organisations using a consultative sales approaches.
Qualifications & Experience
- Sales Leadership: To have at least 10 years of proven experience in senior sales management roles, consistently delivering or exceeding revenue targets.
- Team Development: To have a strong track record in building, motivating, and managing high-performing teams across multiple geographies.
- European Market Knowledge: You will need a deep understanding of European business environments, cultural diversity, and market dynamics.
- Industry Expertise: To be able to demonstrate knowledge of the performance improvement sector, with the ability to adapt to its evolving landscape.
- Enterprise Account Management: To have significant experience in developing and growing revenues within major accounts.
- Strategic Thinking: To have a proficiency in utilising enterprise-level tools and processes such as pipeline management, forecasting, and account strategies.
- Global Perspective: Have a proven ability to navigate and thrive in multi-national organisations, leveraging cultural insights to build successful relationships.
- Education: An undergraduate degree is required; an MBA or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Negotiation Excellence: Strong negotiation skills, with a history of closing complex deals and forming strategic partnerships, is essential.
- Travel Flexibility: To have a willingness to travel within Europe and occasionally to other global locations for corporate meetings.
- Language(s): The corporate business language is English. Fluency in French, German or both is highly desirable.
