Sr. Software Engineer
Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to support our client’s intelligence analysis products and capabilities. This position involves providing software development capabilities to enhance existing and emerging client capabilities, including design and development, modernization of existing applications and services, and operations and sustainment. The role focuses on driving the client’s adaptation of higher levels of automation and operational efficiency through agile development methodologies, rapid prototyping, and modern technology stacks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, modernize, and maintain software applications and services
- Contribute to the design and architecture of high-performance applications
- Leverage agile methodologies to enhance operational efficiency
- Participate in rapid prototyping to quickly iterate and improve solutions
- Utilize modern technology stacks to meet client needs
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Poly
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical degree with 10+ years of experience in software engineering/development or Masters and with 8+ years of experience in software engineering/development
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Experience using GitLab for code source repository
- Experience using GitLab CI/CD
- Development of customized code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, or libraries for specialized spatial analysis functions using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C, Perl, or similar
- Proficiency in at least two of the following areas:
- Python application/API development
- Python Flask or FastAPI
- Building high-performance applications in React.js
- Web services architecture, design, and development
- PostgreSQL database design
- AWS and specific AWS tooling (S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS)
Desired Qualifications:
- Working independently with clients or stakeholders to develop user stories for full-service consumer and business applications
- Experience with government and/or commercial imagery products, including SAR or related RADAR imaging technologies
- Working with and developing geospatial information systems (GIS) with open-source and proprietary geospatial formats
- Use and development with common geospatial tools, data, and operating platforms such as:
- Tools: Boundless Spatial suite, Remote View, PostGRES/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Image Server, File Geodatabases.
- Data Formats: KML, KMZ, NITF, TIFF, JPEG, GeoPDF, and similar geo-related formats and data structures
- Operating Platforms: ESRI, OpenGeo Suite, or similar
- Abstracting new or legacy systems via standards-based APIs, including Open Geospatial Consortium standards
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Developing terrain analysis visualization and algorithms
- Developing automated detection algorithms
- Experience with Argo Workflows
- Certified Scrum Master
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Certified Scrum Professional
