Product Convergence Architect

Annapolis Junction, MD

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Product Convergence Architect to support the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) mission by sustaining, modernizing, and transforming critical enterprise corporate applications used across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, and logistics.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee and guide the unification of two existing product teams into a consolidated, efficient, and cloud-aligned capability. While both teams support the same COTS platform, Feith for managing Electronic Records Management functions, only one product currently operates in AWS. Historically, one team’s mission centered on expanding the capabilities of the other; now, the priority is bringing both efforts together under a modernized and cloud-based architecture.

The selected candidate will work closely with the technical leads from both product teams to evaluate current architectures, workflows, and areas of technical debt. They will develop a comprehensive integration and modernization plan that outlines risks, dependencies, opportunities for efficiency, architectural recommendations, and a phased implementation approach for leadership approval.

This role requires hands-on AWS experience, strong knowledge of supporting and integrating COTS products, and the ability to drive collaboration across engineering teams, customer stakeholders, and vendor partners. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic vision and practical technical leadership as we unify the two product lines and establish a cohesive forward path.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Consolidation & Planning

  • Assess the current state of two separate product teams (processes, technologies, staffing model, architectures, backlogs).
  • Develop a comprehensive Consolidation Plan including:
  • Overlap analysis and areas for unification
  • Technical modernization opportunities
  • Efficiency and cost-saving projections
  • Organizational, operational, and architectural risks
  • Roadmap milestones for unifying teams and platforms
  • Present findings, risks, and recommended path forward to leadership and customer stakeholders.

Technical Engineering & AWS Development

  • Provide hands-on development and solutioning within an AWS environment, aligned with best practices for scalability, resiliency, and security.
  • Support and advise on application modernization opportunities, including containerization strategies and cloud-native re-architecture.
  • Define integration patterns, APIs, and shared service approaches to support a consolidated product ecosystem.

Vendor Engagement & COTS Integration (Feith)

  • Coordinate with Feith (vendor) to understand their roadmap, containerization efforts, and expectations for platform readiness.
  • Evaluate Feith’s containerized product capabilities and determine readiness for integration into the consolidated platform.
  • Translate vendor capabilities into customer-centric recommendations and impact assessments.
  • Present technical recommendations and integration strategies to customer leadership.

Team & Customer Coordination

  • Work directly with both product teams to align processes, define unified technical standards, and reduce redundancy.
  • Facilitate communication across teams, ensuring smooth adoption of consolidation roadmap.
  • Support Agile ceremonies and help refine backlogs to reflect unified team priorities.
  • Provide clear status updates, risk reporting, and milestone tracking to leadership.

 Required:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in software development/engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline. Four (4) years of additional software development experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline can substitute for Two (2) years of experience.
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements, identify system improvements, and effectively troubleshoot issues to enhance application performance and user experience.
  • Experience with AWS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide timely and effective support, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • General understanding of Microsoft environments and enterprise collaboration tools
  • Experience with FEITH Records Management System or other COTS products.
  • Development or scripting experience to support system configuration or automation tasks.
  • Technical awareness and problem-solving ability related to system integration and configuration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to onboard and train users on a new system.
  • Experience supporting or working with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products or integrations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with developers and product support teams.
  • Must be able to work during core hours of Monday-Friday 10am-2pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting enterprise rollouts and managing stakeholder expectations.
  •  Previous experience consolidating teams or systems across enterprise programs.
  •  Experience orchestrating vendor engagements and evaluating vendor technical roadmaps.
  • Understanding of document/content management solutions (Feith, etc.)  even if not the focus of the role.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
