We are looking for a detail-oriented Metrology Inspector to join our quality team and take ownership of inspecting complex metal 3D printed parts. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate our Zeiss Contura CMM using existing Calypso programs, perform manual inspections using gauges, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools, and utilize advanced metrology technologies such as blue light scanning. You’ll clearly communicate results to engineering and production teams, help maintain inspection equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement of quality workflows. 3D printing experience is not required to be successful here - rather we look for smart, motivated, collaborative individuals who love solving hard problems and creating amazing technology!
Responsibilities:
- Operate Zeiss Contura CMM machine using Calypso for the inspection of complex metal 3D printed parts and geometries.
- Perform manual inspections using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools to inspect feature tolerances, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize blue light scanning and other advanced metrology tools to inspect and analyze part geometries.
- Execute inspection programs developed by engineering and quality teams, and ensure parts are measured accurately and consistently.
- Interpret GD&T requirements as applied to engineering drawings and notes, identifying and addressing dimension interpretation issues. .
- Collaborate with engineers and quality leads to communicate inspection results and flag potential part or process issues.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing inspection programs, toolkits, and inspection records.
- Support upkeep of metrology equipment and contribute to continuous improvement in inspection workflows.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of metrology experience
- Experience operating a CMM
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and understanding GD&T principles
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 1+ years of CMM programming experience (Calypso, PC-DMIS, COSMOS)
- Experience with CMM inspection of metal 3D printed parts
- Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs unassisted
- Must be available and willing to work overtime when needed

- Compensation
- As a growing company, the salary range is intentionally wide as we determine the most appropriate package for each individual taking into consideration years of experience, educational background, and unique skills and abilities as demonstrated throughout the interview process. Our intent is to offer a salary that is commensurate for the company’s current stage of development and allows the employee to grow and develop within a role.
- In addition to the significant stock option package, the estimated pay range for this role is $30-$45/hour, depending on the level of seniority demonstrated in the interview process.
