The Opportunity - Financial Analyst, Marketing Planning & Analysis
As a Financial Analyst, Marketing Planning & Analysis, you will support FreshBooks’ Marketing leaders by providing financial analysis and forecasts that drive strategic decision-making. You will assess campaigns and projects to identify the most impactful opportunities for growth. Reporting to the Director, Planning & Analysis, you will deliver data-driven insights that help business leaders make informed decisions. Your work will directly influence key initiatives and shape the company’s direction.
Note: This role is hybrid, meaning that the team comes together in our downtown Toronto office twice per month. The majority of the time you will work from home.
What You'll Do as a Financial Analyst, Marketing Planning & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business forecasts.
- Analyze actual vs. forecasted results, identify key variances, and assess future impact.
- Build, automate, and maintain reports on key metrics like LTV, ARPU, CAC, payback, funnel analysis and marketing attribution.
- Evaluate marketing performance data to measure campaign effectiveness and recommend optimizations.
- Provide weekly media spend reports with insights on key variances.
- Collaborate with FP&A and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and improve campaigns.
- Support marketing initiatives by analyzing channel performance and financial results.
- Provide coordination and support for other marketing activities and initiatives as required.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience as an analyst in business, revenue operations, or marketing.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills for financial modeling and forecasting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of data modeling and data warehouse principles.
- Proactive approach to automation and process improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
You'll Stand Out If You Bring Experience In
- Experience with Looker, MySQL query, Google Analytics
- Experience working in SaaS revenue model
