Back End Engineer

The Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Back-End Engineer to join our growing team and play a crucial role in building the backend infrastructure for our innovative platform. You will work closely with the Full-Stack Engineering Lead and a team of talented engineers to design, develop, and implement robust and scalable back-end services. While your primary focus will be back-end development, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate across the full stack, leveraging your full-stack capabilities to contribute to the overall success of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement distributed and scalable back-end services using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with front-end engineers to build APIs that facilitate seamless communication between the front-end and back-end components.
- Develop and maintain data models using relational or NoSQL databases.
- Implement robust security measures to protect user data and system integrity.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in back-end technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in back-end development with a strong understanding of server-side programming languages (Python, Java, etc.).
- Experience with relational databases and familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience building and deploying APIs (REST, GraphQL).
- Experience with implementing security best practices.
- Proficiency in writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for building innovative and scalable back-end systems.
- Experience with full-stack development (front-end technologies) is a plus.

We have determined a salary range for this position that takes into account several factors including experience, knowledge, education, skills, and abilities. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline and the exact salary will be determined based on the individual’s qualifications and experience, with consideration given to the factors listed above. All full time employee benefits include a stake in shared success through stock options, health benefits, 401(k) plan, and responsible PTO.
Expected salary range in Denver
$145,000 - $170,000 USD
