Head of Clinical Programs

Denver, Colorado

Frontera Health is revolutionizing pediatric healthcare by developing a cutting-edge, tech-enabled platform that delivers essential therapies to rural families. Our platform leverages AI/ML to create a robust video-based data model for early intervention and developmental disorders. By collaborating closely with parents, caregivers, and clinical partners, we’re bridging the gap in access to care, improving health equity, and providing personalized treatment plans. Backed by leading investors like Lightspeed and Lux, Frontera Health is poised for rapid growth.

Our ABA direct services are designed to meet the unique needs of children in underserved communities, providing them with the support and resources they require to reach their full potential. We are passionate about ensuring that every child, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status, has access to high-quality healthcare. By leveraging our technology platform and partnering with local providers, we are able to deliver effective ABA therapy to families who may otherwise have limited access to these essential services.

We’re seeking a Head of Clinical Programs to lead the development, launch, and ongoing management of our Virtual Diagnosis Service Line for autism and other behavioral health conditions. This role will focus on creating a robust clinical model, ensuring high-quality care, and maintaining financial viability as the program scales. You’ll work closely with executive leadership to establish and refine a sustainable model of care that meets both clinical and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Model Development & Implementation
    • Design and refine clinical protocols, workflows, and processes for our virtual diagnostic service, integrating evidence-based guidelines (e.g., DSM-5, AAP) and AI-driven tools.
    • Oversee the implementation of these protocols, ensuring consistency and quality in a remote care setting.
    • Monitor clinical performance metrics, adapting and optimizing the model to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
  2. Program Oversight & Quality Assurance
    • Set and maintain clinical standards, overseeing the use of standardized assessment tools, adherence to regulatory guidelines, and continuous quality improvement.
    • Coordinate with existing ABA services to ensure cohesive, end-to-end care for patients.
    • Ensure compliance with licensure requirements, telehealth regulations, and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
  3. Financial Management & Sustainability
    • Own the financial viability of the virtual diagnostic business, collaborating with the VP of Finance on budgeting, revenue forecasts, and cost management.
    • Establish pricing, reimbursement, and billing strategies (e.g., insurance, Medicaid, private pay) that align with the company’s financial goals.
    • Monitor unit economics and P&L for the service line, adjusting operational and clinical strategies to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.
  4. Team Building & Leadership
    • Determine the staffing model (e.g., in-house vs. network of external clinicians) and recruit top clinical talent to deliver diagnostic evaluations.
    • Develop and lead training programs to ensure clinicians can effectively use our LLM-based report writing and digital phenotyping tools.
    • Implement structured peer review, supervision, and continuing education to maintain a high level of clinical excellence.
  5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work closely with the management team on market strategy, growth initiatives, and partnership development.
    • Engage with external healthcare providers (pediatricians, speech therapists) and other stakeholders to foster strong referral networks and ensure continuity of care.
    • Represent Frontera Health at industry events, conferences, and community gatherings to build awareness and enhance the company’s reputation.
  6. Data-Driven Decision Making
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (e.g., diagnostic accuracy, turnaround time, patient satisfaction) to inform clinical and operational decisions.
    • Collaborate with data science and product teams to refine AI-driven tools, ensuring they meet evolving clinical needs and align with regulatory changes.
    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging evidence-based innovation and iterative program enhancements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Doctoral or Master’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, or a related field (e.g., PsyD, PhD, MD). Licensure in relevant states is a plus.
  • 8+ years of clinical leadership/program management experience, ideally in pediatric behavioral health or autism services.
  • Proven track record of implementing and scaling clinical programs, with knowledge of telehealth delivery models.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization.
  • Comfortable with AI and digital health tools; able to integrate new technologies into clinical workflows.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, telehealth regulations, multi-state licensure).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills—capable of motivating teams, guiding strategic decisions, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Passion for innovation in pediatric behavioral health and a commitment to improving diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes for children and families.
