IT & Systems Lead

Denver, Colorado

Frontera is reimagining how children with autism and other behavioral health needs get the care they deserve. We bring together world-class clinicians, technologists, and autism specialists to build cutting-edge AI tools that help care teams work smarter and spend more time with the children and families who need them most.

Our platform is HIPAA-compliant and designed for the real-world needs of behavioral health teams - from psychologists to ABA therapists. By combining evidence-based care with powerful technology, we’re expanding access to high-quality services for families everywhere.

Our Mission

Frontera exists to close the care gap: every child, no matter where they live, should be able to access effective behavioral healthcare.

IT & Systems Lead

About the Role

Frontera is building something unusual: a technology company and a care delivery organization designed to scale together.

Through Frontera Health, we are building proprietary technology to improve how behavioral healthcare is delivered. Through FronteraCare, we operate clinical services where that technology is deployed in the real world — allowing us to improve care, learn faster, and build a differentiated technology and data advantage over time.

We are looking for an IT & Systems Lead to own Frontera’s internal technology environment across both Frontera Health and FronteraCare, including our IT infrastructure, employee technology experience, devices, core systems, and broader IT tech stack.

This is a hands-on builder role with broad ownership. You will support everyone from clinicians working in our care centers to engineers building our platform to executives operating across multiple businesses and markets. You will be responsible for making technology work reliably today while building the systems, standards, and operating model Frontera needs as we grow organically and through acquisition.

The right person is a curious, practical problem solver who can move fluidly between strategy and execution. You might spend one day evaluating a new enterprise system, another improving employee onboarding and access management, and the next leading IT diligence for an acquisition or project-managing a SOC 2 workstream.

This role has the opportunity to meaningfully influence not only how our teams work, but how effectively FronteraCare scales care and how Frontera builds the infrastructure behind its long-term technology and data strategy.

What You’ll Own

IT Infrastructure & Employee Support

  • Own IT operations end to end across Frontera Health and FronteraCare.
  • Build a scalable IT operating model across corporate teams, clinical teams, distributed employees, and care locations.
  • Own device provisioning, endpoint management, identity and access management, software provisioning, networking, and employee technology support.
  • Build a high-quality employee technology experience from onboarding through offboarding.
  • Establish clear service levels, escalation paths, documentation, and self-service processes that allow IT support to scale efficiently.
  • Provide thoughtful, high-touch support to executives while also building scalable systems for the broader organization.

Systems, Tooling & Ways of Working

  • Own and continuously evolve Frontera’s internal IT tech stack across Frontera Health and FronteraCare.
  • Develop a clear point of view on which tools should be standardized, consolidated, replaced, or introduced as the company scales.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to identify operational friction and determine where better systems, automation, integrations, or workflows can improve how teams work.
  • Lead system selection and implementation, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, configuration, rollout, training, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Build appropriate governance around system ownership, permissions, integrations, data flows, and vendor management.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the stack, reduce manual work, improve interoperability, and eliminate redundant or underutilized tools.
  • Help Frontera evolve not just which tools we use, but how we work.

Clinical & Multi-Site Technology

  • Build IT infrastructure that works for a distributed clinical workforce and a growing network of care locations.
  • Partner closely with FronteraCare clinical and operational leaders to understand frontline workflows and ensure technology supports rather than creates friction for care teams.
  • Own technology setup for new clinics and locations, including devices, connectivity, access, vendors, and employee systems.
  • Build repeatable standards and playbooks that allow new locations to launch and integrate quickly and consistently.

Security, Compliance, HIPPA & SOC 2

  • Partner with Engineering, Legal, People, Finance, and other stakeholders to maintain strong security and compliance practices.
  • Own or project-manage relevant IT components of Frontera’s SOC 2 program, including evidence collection, control execution, remediation, access reviews, vendor management, and annual readiness.
  • Own IT-related security policies and operational controls across devices, software, identity, and access.
  • Build practical security processes that balance strong controls with usability and employee adoption.
  • Support vendor security reviews and broader technology risk management.

Cloud Infrastructure Partnership

  • Partner closely with Engineering on areas where internal IT, security, identity, and Frontera’s production technology infrastructure intersect.
  • Engineering will own Frontera’s AWS and production infrastructure; the IT & Systems Lead will support the corporate, identity, access, security, and operational components connected to that environment.
  • Establish clear ownership boundaries and strong operating processes across IT and Engineering.
  • Help ensure infrastructure decisions are secure, scalable, and appropriate for a growing healthcare and technology company.

M&A Due Diligence & Integration

  • Support Frontera’s inorganic growth by owning IT diligence and integration for acquisitions.
  • Assess the technology environment of potential acquisitions, including hardware, software, systems, security posture, vendors, contracts, data practices, and integration risks.
  • Develop repeatable IT diligence and integration playbooks.
  • Lead post-close technology integration, balancing speed, continuity of care, employee experience, security, and standardization.
  • Help Frontera build an integration model that allows newly acquired organizations to transition onto our infrastructure increasingly quickly as we scale.

Vendor & Cost Management

  • Select, negotiate with, and manage vendors across software, hardware, connectivity, managed services, security, and other IT categories.
  • Build strong vendor management practices and ensure Frontera is getting appropriate value, service, security, and scalability from its partners.
  • Own or partner on the IT budget and proactively identify opportunities to reduce complexity and cost.

What We’re Looking For

We care more about the operating pattern than any single background, but strong candidates will likely bring:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience across IT, systems, infrastructure, business technology, or technology operations.
  • Experience owning a broad IT or systems function within a growing, multi-site, or operationally complex organization.
  • Experience building systems and processes through meaningful organizational growth and change.
  • Strong hands-on experience across identity and access management, endpoint/device management, SaaS administration, networking, employee lifecycle workflows, and vendor management.
  • Experience supporting a mix of corporate, technical, frontline, clinical, or distributed employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Experience selecting, implementing, and driving adoption of enterprise tools.
  • Strong change management skills and a track record of improving how organizations work through technology and process design.
  • Strong security and compliance orientation.
  • SOC 2 and HIPAA experience strongly preferred, particularly experience owning or project-managing readiness, audits, or ongoing compliance.
  • Experience with IT diligence or systems integration through M&A strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, multi-site services, or another operationally complex environment is a plus
