Position Details:
- Overview: Love organization, accuracy, and learning new skills? Support our lab team through vital administrative work while gaining exposure to specialized laboratory functions.
- Job Title: Histology Technician I
- Location: Salem Pathology Lab
- Typical Schedule: Varied Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Position Status: Temporary 6-month role with potential for long-term employment based on business needs and evaluation

Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED, and 3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
- Preferred: Experience as a Histotech or HT (ASCP) eligible
Some duties may include:
- Accession specimens for grossing
- Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
- Accurately label tissue samples and slides
- Possible crossing training in processing and embed samples, sectioning paraffin-embedded samples, and preparing reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
- Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
- Our lab must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment while adhering to OSHA/CLIA requirements
- Our histotechnicians/histotechnologists must have the ability to work efficiently with other team members to meet daily processing deadlines, be highly organized, and extremely detail oriented. See our mission below!
