ABOUT PATTERSON FLYNN 

Patterson Flynn is our bespoke floorcovering boutique that creates one-of-a-kind rugs and carpets that exude luxury and fine design. As part of the F. Schumacher & Co. family, Patterson Flynn represents the pinnacle of custom floorcovering craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with contemporary design sensibilities. Patterson Flynn currently maintains 14 showrooms across the United States, each showcasing our commitment to exceptional quality and personalized design solutions. Our team works closely with interior designers and discerning clients to create custom pieces that reflect individual style while maintaining the highest standards of luxury and craftsmanship. 

Associate Merchandiser 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Merchandiser to join the Patterson Flynn team. This role is critical to our operations, managing the full lifecycle of our broadloom and custom product offerings while ensuring seamless coordination across all business functions. The ideal candidate will combine analytical skills with a passion for design, driving both operational excellence and creative innovation within our luxury floorcovering division. 

YOU WILL: 

Product Management & Strategy 

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, design, and operations teams to align merchandising strategies with business goals 
  • Own SKU and PO creation for broadloom and custom products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our product catalog 
  • Meet with broadloom representatives and mills to make informed buying decisions across all showrooms 
  • Execute price updates in ERP system across all mills for custom and broadloom products, maintaining competitive positioning 

Analysis & Reporting 

  • Prepare and deliver monthly sales reporting across all categories including broadloom, custom, and textiles/wall coverings 
  • Analyze sales trends and performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making 
  • Monitor sample inventory levels and turnover rates to optimize product mix 

Launch Management & Coordination 

  • Own the custom launch calendar, adjusting dates and ensuring timeline adherence 
  • Follow up on production timing and coordinate with mills to meet delivery commitments 
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure deadlines are met for marketing materials and collection launches 
  • Manage launch communications and coordinate cross-departmental efforts 

Digital Platform Management 

  • Assist in adding and updating product information on the website to ensure accurate and compelling online presence 
  • Collaborate with teams to optimize product presentation and searchability 
  • Support digital marketing initiatives with accurate product data and specifications 

YOU HAVE: 

  • 2-4 years of experience in merchandising, product management, or related field, preferably in luxury goods or interior design industry 
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and data analysis 
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities 
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments 
  • Knowledge of floorcovering industry, textiles, or interior design preferred 
  • Experience with launch calendar management and production coordination 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and comfort learning new software platforms 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Interior Design, or related field preferred 
  • A passion for luxury design and attention to detail that reflects Patterson Flynn's commitment to excellence

Cross-Functional Collaboration - Building strong relationships across departments to ensure seamless execution of merchandising initiatives. 

Attention to Detail - Maintaining the high standards of accuracy and quality that Patterson Flynn clients expect. 

Proactive Communication - Anticipating needs, identifying potential issues, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout all processes. 

Results Orientation - Driving measurable improvements in sales performance, operational efficiency, and launch success rates. 

Working Hours: 

  • Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, 4 days onsite 1 day remote

Salary Range

$70,000 - $75,000 USD
