About The Role
FREDERIC Media is seeking an experienced and dynamic Luxury Sales Director to lead advertising sales efforts across a broad array of high-end lifestyle categories, including (but not limited to) Jewelry & Watch, Fashion, Travel, and Beauty. This newly created strategic role is designed for a self-starting sales leader with deep knowledge of the luxury market and the confidence to prospect, develop, and close premium advertising partnerships with leading luxury brands.
The successful candidate will represent the full FREDERIC Media portfolio—including print, digital, social, experiential events, and brand partnerships — and will serve as a key revenue driver for the business. This individual must possess a strong understanding of FREDERIC Media’s editorial mission, discerning audience, and premium positioning in the marketplace, enabling them to deliver compelling, high-value, non-discounted advertising solutions.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Leadership
- Serve as the primary sales lead for all luxury lifestyle advertising categories outside of the home/interior design vertical.
- Create and execute strategic sales plans focused on driving revenue growth and brand alignment.
- Client Prospecting & Pipeline Development
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate relationships with prospective advertisers and agencies within the luxury sector.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads across key categories including fashion, fine jewelry, watches, luxury travel, and beauty.
- Consultative Sales & Relationship Management
- Develop tailored proposals and presentations based on a deep understanding of client objectives and FREDERIC Media’s editorial and brand positioning.
- Act as a consultative partner to high-level brand stakeholders and marketing executives, providing strategic advertising solutions that span multiple platforms.
- Cross-Platform Media Solutions
- Sell across all FREDERIC Media platforms: print, digital, social media, branded content, and live events/activations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (editorial, marketing, digital, design) to develop compelling multi-channel proposals that deliver measurable ROI.
- Policy Adherence & Brand Integrity
- Uphold FREDERIC Media’s sales principles, including a no-negotiation policy and no added-value offerings.
- Educate clients on the premium value of the FREDERIC brand and ensure alignment between our editorial voice and advertiser messaging.
- Internal Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Publishing Director to review proposals, align on strategy, and report on sales performance.
- Attend in-office meetings at least two partial days per week to participate in internal collaboration, pipeline reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of successful sales experience in luxury advertising, preferably within lifestyle media.
- Strong network of existing relationships across key luxury categories, including jewelry, fashion, watches, beauty, and high-end travel.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets through strategic account development and relationship-building.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of the luxury consumer mindset and brand alignment strategy.
- Familiarity with media buying cycles, agency dynamics, and brand marketing strategies.
- Comfort selling across a full range of media formats and working with creative teams to bring ideas to life.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Energetic, polished, and self-directed with a passion for luxury and editorial storytelling.
- Flexible team player willing to do whatever is necessary to keep office operations flowing smoothly, who looks for opportunities to collaborate

Compensation
This contract Luxury Sales Director position offers a competitive retainer-plus-commission compensation model, designed to reward performance with strong earning potential.
- Annual Base Retainer: $16,000, paid in two equal installments of $8,000. This retainer represents commission against 5% of the print advertising sales goal.
- Commission: Additionally, earn a generous 20% commission on all advertising sales (print, digital, sponsorship, etc.).
- Total Compensation: On-target earnings (OTE) of $79,600 based on achieving print advertising sales goal.
Performance will be evaluated every 6 months. This structure ensures a stable income foundation while providing substantial upside based on performance.
