About The Role

We are looking for a Managing Director of Sales that is a results-driven leader who sits at the intersection of strategy, inspiration, and execution. This dynamic individual plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s regional sales vision while cultivating a performance-driven culture rooted in integrity, collaboration, and a passion for excellence. Equal parts strategic architect and hands-on coach, the Managing Director of Sales will be responsible for leading a high-performing sales team to surpass ambitious revenue goals, build deep client relationships, and uphold the company’s elevated brand promise in every interaction.

 

This individual will define clear, measurable objectives for the team and implement data-driven strategies that not only achieve monthly and quarterly KPIs but also unlock new market opportunities and long-term growth. By setting a standard of excellence in customer engagement, team development, and operational efficiency, the Managing Director of Sales will ensure that every client experience is seamless, tailored, and unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Sales Strategy

  • Set and communicate ambitious but achievable sales goals aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives to meet and exceed targets.
  • Design and execute comprehensive regional sales strategies focused on revenue growth, client acquisition, and long-term brand loyalty.
  • Establish a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align sales efforts with company-wide priorities and strategic initiatives.

Team Development & Performance Optimization

  • Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and career development support to team members.
  • Create and maintain a structured framework for tracking team KPIs, activity metrics, pipeline health, and performance trends.
  • Build a resilient, adaptable team culture that embraces collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Identify talent gaps, lead recruiting efforts, and help onboard and ramp new sales team members quickly and effectively.

Client Experience & Relationship Management

  • Build, manage, and grow meaningful relationships with high-value clients, trade professionals, architects, designers, and luxury lifestyle partners.
  • Represent the company with warmth, expertise, and professionalism at all client touchpoints, events, and industry gatherings.
  • Ensure each client interaction upholds the elevated standards and personal touch our brand is known for.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their vision and tailoring solutions that exceed expectations.

Sales Operations & Forecasting

  • Oversee the full sales cycle—from lead generation to close—with a keen focus on client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data and develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts.
  • Analyze conversion rates, lead sources, and performance metrics to make data-informed decisions and continuously improve processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners in logistics, customer service, and operations to support order management and fulfillment.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and sales skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in luxury interior design, high-end home furnishings, showrooms, or design-centric environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a quota-carrying leadership position.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop top talent.
  • Deep understanding of the luxury consumer mindset and how to deliver an elevated, bespoke client experience.
  • Analytical mindset with fluency in CRM tools, forecasting models, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to clients, partners, and executives.
  • Creative problem-solver with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to business challenges.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, and design-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading high-performance teams with the ability to proactively engage cross-functional teams across the organization to establish clear priorities for new and existing client sales.

Salary Range

$11,000 - $120,000 USD
