Role Overview
Portfolio Development Intern
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Product Portfolio Associate to support our sourcing and development team. This role is focused on identifying new product opportunities, collaborating with mills and vendors, and ensuring smooth execution from initial development through launch. It’s a great fit for someone with a background in product development, fashion, textiles, or merchandising who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to help shape our Perfect Basics portfolio offerings.
Key Responsibilities
• Attend vendor meetings to identify new qualities, evaluate competitive offerings, and recommend opportunities for expansion within Perfect Basics.
• Conduct market and program analysis to identify white space and ensure the category remains competitive.
• Work closely with mills to understand their capabilities in order to develop forward-thinking products.
• Track and manage incoming samples, ensuring all product information, swatches, and pricing are accurately documented.
• Partner with mills to secure competitive costs, confirm technical details, and maintain timely sample delivery.
• Assemble collection boards and support internal presentations for collection reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all new products are set up accurately in systems and launched on time.
• Maintain organized records of materials, samples, and product information to ensure visibility across the team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Fashion Design, Textiles, Merchandising, or a related field.
• Experience in product development or sourcing preferred (internship experience considered).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify product opportunities within a portfolio.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; Smartsheets experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset when working with cross-functional partners and vendors.

Salary Range
$55,000 - $68,000 USD
