This role sits within Paramount Handprints, our internal product mill based in Passaic, NJ, which manufactures hand-screen printed textiles and wallcoverings for both Schumacher's own channels and every third-party to-the-trade customer we serve.  

Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Area Manager II / Warehouse & Shipping Manager to own the shipping, receiving, and warehouse function end-to-end for Paramount. This individual will be the single point of contact for all inbound and outbound movement. They will lead a team of 5–7; partner daily with production planning, FSCO procurement, and third-party customers; and build the systems, policies, and standards that ensure reliable receiving, accurate inventory, and on-time delivery. 

The ideal candidate will set the direction and own the outcomes, bringing rigor, standards, and consistency to an operation that is actively evolving and growing. 

This role is based full-time, on-site in Passaic, NJ, aligned to production hours. It reports to the President, Paramount Handprints. 

What You'll Do 

• Lead the team. Lead a team of 5–7 shipping and warehouse associates, including the shipping and warehouse leads. 

• Set the direction and hold the team accountable to key performance targets. 

• Schedule and set daily priorities. 

• Build a culture of ownership, quality, and pride; recruit, develop, and retain talent.  

• Own warehouse & shipping operations. Oversee all inbound and outbound shipping and inventory management, including: 

• Domestic shipping: Run the daily FedEx/UPS parcel and LTL/freight operation for consolidated pallets and drop-ships in coordination with Schumacher internal logistics; ensure every order ships on-time and is packed securely and inspected for quality. 

• International shipping and receiving: Own customs, broker, and clearance coordination for all overseas inbound and outbound shipments. 

• Inventory staging: Ensure fabric and wallpaper grounds are accurately accounted for, allocated, prepared, and staged for production. 

• Partner with procurement. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with FSCO procurement on all incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods, aligning timing, carriers, and documentation so nothing stalls. 

• Own ERP accuracy & inventory. Oversee accurate ERP receiving and reconciliation of received quantities; own weekly replenishment numbers and weekly shipping-target reporting, proactively flagging deadlines and risks. 

• Build the systems & standards. Design, document, implement, and enforce shipping, receiving, and inventory SOPs; bill-of-lading and packing-list standards; and QC inspection of incoming and outgoing orders; be instrumental in implementing new tracking and inventory systems.  

• Control carriers & cost. Own carrier relationships, rates, claims, and cost control across all modes; track and improve KPIs. 

• Communicate. Be the clear, proactive voice of shipping and warehouse operations, keeping Paramount leadership and key customer stakeholders informed on status, deadlines, order issues, and other flags. 

What We're Looking For 

• Proven leadership. 5+ years of experience leading shipping, logistics, or distribution in a manufacturing or warehouse operation, including 2+ years of direct people management. 

• An excellent communicator. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills — the trusted voice of shipping internally and with intercompany and third-party customers, by phone and email. 

• Highly organized & goal-driven. Mission- and goal-oriented; thrives in a target-driven environment, responds quickly to shifting priorities, and stays focused across many concurrent orders. 

• A process builder. A track record of developing and implementing policies and procedures that stick and scale. 

• Bilingual. Spanish fluency strongly preferred to lead a diverse floor team effectively. 

• Technically fluent. Strong with ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word; Access a plus); quick to adopt and roll out new technology. 

• Hands-on when it counts. Comfortable leading from the floor in an active production environment; able to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for periods as needed. 

• Experienced across modes. Comfortable with parcel and LTL/freight, bills of lading, and customs/brokerage for overseas shipments. 

Nice to Have 

• Experience with textiles, wallcoverings, printing, or another made-to-order manufacturing environment. 

• Familiarity with to-the-trade or B2B customer service.
