Position Summary:
The co-op will report into the Associate Director of the Business Analytics team of a rapidly growing organization. This role will focus on combining traditional business analytics with next-generation AI approaches to support strategic decision-making for Flagship and its portfolio companies. The co-op will gain experience working with financial, market, clinical, and scientific data while also helping to explore, prototype, and deploy AI tools that accelerate insights and operations.
Responsibilities
- Organize, analyze, and visualize diverse datasets, including biotech-specific indication, market, financial, and clinical information.
- Support development of analytical models and frameworks that guide portfolio strategy and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope, design, and test custom AI solutions tailored to business and research needs.
- Experiment with and prototype AI agents to streamline workflows, automate intelligence gathering, and enhance decision support.
- Translate complex findings into clear, compelling outputs for business leaders.
Qualifications
- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, or Biology.
- Strong interest in life sciences and applications of AI to business problems.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and hands-on experience with Python, R, or equivalent programming environments preferred.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and adapt in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) or cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) is a plus.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset.
