Position Summary:
We are searching for a highly motivated candidate enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in biochemical engineering, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar discipline to drive ex vivo studies for platform development and therapeutic proof-of-principle. More broadly, we are looking for an individual who enjoys working with ex vivo models and brings scientific rigor, intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to innovate new nucleic acid therapeutics. This individual will have the opportunity to work on-site in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, working as part of a highly collaborative team.
In this role, the candidate will support ongoing efforts to drive development of genetic medicines by investigating how our novel therapeutics can improve outcomes in preclinical models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution and analysis of in vitro or ex vivo samples from animal experiments to assess efficacy, safety, and PK/PD profiles of novel nucleic acid therapeutics.
- Analysis and processing with ex vivo analytical assays such as ELISA, FACS, MSD, qPCR, etc.
- Perform histological tissue analysis (IHC/IF, ISH, H&E, etc.)
- Effectively communicate experimental findings in oral, written, and visual formats.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of basic cell and molecular biology.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as the ability to contribute to high performing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and rapidly growing biotech environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GPA >3.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous laboratory experience, either through coursework, lab volunteering, master’s thesis or equivalent.
The salary range for this role is $20 - $40. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. FL87 currently offers healthcare coverage, annual incentive program, retirement benefits and a broad range of other benefits.
