Seasonal Forklift Coordinator
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Forklift Coordinator to join our Learning Team based in the Wilkes-Barre, PA Fulfillment Center. The ideal candidate must have the “knowledge, training, and experience” to train others on how to safely operate powered industrial trucks in the employer’s workplace. The successful candidate will be accountable to train forklift truck operators, organize and administer operator competency tests, issue operator trained certifications, maintain all records of training in accordance with regulated requirements, perform and track audits on forklift trained warehouse associates.
Shift: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, 6:30p-5a
What you'll do:
- Train and certify all personnel on safe operation of all equipment, including powered fork equipment
- Implement and enforce all OSHA and warehouse rules and regulations related to Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT)
- Continually add value to training material through comprehensive evaluation
- Continually implement machine specific training plan and programs
- Facility audits
- Engaging team members to build and maintain safety as part of the culture
- Ability to prioritize job tasks and duties
- Instruct, examine and issue certification
- Oversee practical training and testing
- Prioritize safety and accident prevention
- Perform Practical applications of PIT training
- Teach truck familiarization and principles of PIT operation
- Perform Audits on PIT trained warehouse associates
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
- Minimum 6 months training experience required; forklift training experience preferred
- Proficiency in computer usage, email, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Understanding of fulfillment/distribution center/warehouse processes and flow
- Well-developed observational and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Strong skills developing relationships across all levels and functions
- Able to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed for 7-day operation
- Proven skills for planning daily/weekly tasks and adapting to competing demands
