Our Opportunity: 
Chewy is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician Lead at our fulfillment center in Lewisberry, PA. We are looking for an expert maintenance professional with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyors, PLCs, and industrial equipment. Confirmed ability to lead by example in fast-paced environments while building strong, multi-functional relationships. Known for a hands-on approach and a passion for continuous improvement, safety, and team development. Comfortable navigating change, identifying root causes, and driving day-to-day operational improvements. Seeking to bring leadership, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to the Maintenance Technician Lead role at Chewy's Lewisberry fulfillment center.

 

What you will do: 
 

  • You will perform maintenance and repair, housekeeping and plumbing, metal fabrication and carpentry to support our fast-paced fulfillment center operations. 
  • Ensure that all fulfillment center equipment is operating properly and ensure a safe working environment for all your fulfillment team members. 
  • Complete periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility - as assigned and according to schedule. 
  • Perform daily inspections of conveyor systems, shipping, and packing equipment areas. 
  • Maintain accountability for assigned equipment and associated gear list, reducing loss, damage, and defects to zero. 
  • Complete repair order and maintain parts usage records. 
  • Solve mechanical and electrical problems, you will visually check, test, and evaluate the condition of components, equipment, and circuits. 
  • Follow company procedures. 
  • Lead a team of up to 10 hourly facilities associates.  
  • Responsible for achieving all facilities goals. 
  • Primary POC for P1/P2 customer concerns 
  • Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning. 
  • Ability to develop and share standard methodologies across the shifts and network. 
  • Create a positive team multifaceted that encourages all employees in the FC to provide feedback and inspire change within the facility, adapt to the constantly evolving business, and stay focused on the customer experience. 
  • Apply the site CMMS system (Fiix) to optimize perfect PM/CM execution and provide insights to improve overall performance. 

  
What you will need:

  • At least 36 months of previous facility maintenance experience 
  • (Mechanics and Maintainers, Construction and Engineering, Aviation and Transportation Repair) 
  • Must have electrical experience or understanding. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate electrical knowledge of 24v ac/dc control circuits. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate electrical knowledge of 120v power & control circuits. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate electrical knowledge of 277v-480v power circuits. 
  • Experience using appropriate tools and maintenance equipment. 
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently 
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level, with the ability to climb and work at elevations up to 35 feet above floor level. 
  • Interest in math, electricity, shop mechanics, electric motors, and appliances 
  • Good at solving problems. 
  • Understand potential exposure exists to high voltage current, welding equipment, vehicle and equipment lubricants and solvents. 
  • Ability to work nights and weekends. 
  • Experience with fire system and fire alarm electronic devices. 
  • Ability to read, understand & interpret electrical, pneumatic, & plumbing schematics. 
  • Experience with conveyor mechanical systems (belts, drives, tracking valves). 
  • Experience with VFD motor controllers 
  • Experience with motor starters and control cabinet 
  • PLC knowledge - input/outputs solving or some programming. 
  • HVAC - sophisticated knowledge or experience. 
  • Communicate preventative maintenance and repair opportunities as well as critical issue of resources outside of normal hours when needed, to ensure system performance. 
  • Can communicate, make sound decisions, work well under pressure. 
  • Recognize problems and repair before breakdown occurs. 
  • Proactive problem solving & mechanical proficiency skills. 
  • Ability and willingness to train others
