Seasonal Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator

Our Opportunity

Chewy is looking for a Safety & Loss Prevention Coordinator to join our team! In this key role, you’ll work closely with site leadership, supervisors, and team members to help build and maintain a safe, positive, and compliant work environment. You’ll lead safety trainings, support investigations, conduct inspections, and be a champion of our safety-first culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Promote and enforce safety practices across the site, ensuring alignment with OSHA and warehouse regulations.
  • Build strong connections with team members and help foster a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Lead safety trainings and facilitate 5S, Gemba walks, and behavioral safety observations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and health walkthroughs of the facility.
  • Support investigations related to accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
  • Help manage PPE inventory and ensure all safety equipment is readily available and in working order.
  • Coordinate and participate in emergency drills, assessing team readiness.
  • Keep all safety documentation organized, up to date, and compliant.
  • Continuously improve training content and delivery for better team engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support workplace safety and compliance efforts.
  • Jump in to support other tasks and projects as needed—flexibility is key!

 

What You’ll Need

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills—you’re approachable and clear.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in a high-speed, ever-changing environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mentality with attention to detail.
  • Experience operating safely around powered industrial equipment.
  • Previous warehouse, distribution center, or fulfillment experience preferred.
  • Confidence leading safety discussions and training sessions.
  • 2-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to work across shifts and schedules as needed in a 7-day operation.
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to establish relationships at all levels of the organization.
