Title: Scientist Product Development
Location: Bridgewater, NJ
Company: Fortune 100 Nutrition Science & Health Food Manufacturing Company (FuseGlobal has worked with this company for 20 years)
Initial term: 12 months (position expected to run longer)
Schedule: Monday-Friday on-site

POSITION SUMMARY:

Drive projects, processes and product development by innovation and renovation of dedicated products and technologies from conception to first plant production while maximizing efficiencies. Deliver challenging, high visibility projects with independent decision making and minimal management supervision while coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and commercialize competitive products to achieve operational targets with significant impact on the results of the team
• Can manage an entire project or process within scope of responsibility
• Communicate and influence project results to cross-functional team, project team and/or to management
• Establish close relationships to support the markets/businesses (Scientific & Technical Assistance) to improve performance, product quality and installing new lines
• Coach less experienced associates on product development best practices
• Lead NCE by example incl full accountability of owned NIMS Process. Establish, develop, implement, maintain and improve processes (incl objectives, KPIs, related documents), systems or products to increase performance.

Employee is responsible to follow and uphold all Food Safety, Food Quality, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures as pertains to role.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Minimum 5-7 years applicable science/engineering or related discipline

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Up to $28.40 per hour + Overtime

Knowledge of:

• Formulation of tablets, capsules, softgels (optional, this is a plus).
• GMPc basic
• Direct mixing, direct compression, granulation, milling, drying, etc.
• Stability studies for pharma/nutraceutical formulas.
• Pre-formulation skills and good understanding of the engineering and technology behind the compression, encapsulation and coating process.
• Business operating systems and software (good knowledge of Excel is a desired plus)
• MS Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, MS Office.
