Position Description
General Atlantic’s Growth Acceleration team is one of GA’s key Value Creation pillars, together with Capital Markets and Human Capital. The team is the firm’s in-house consultancy focused on supporting investors across the investment lifecycle, including due diligence and portfolio value creation, with an emphasis on driving top-line growth. The team integrates several core firm capabilities, including market research, data science, digital marketing, and pricing optimization.
The Data Science Intern will join a global team of experienced data scientists and will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of analytical tasks. They must have a strong ability to draw actionable recommendations from data, build advanced ML models and communicate impactfully.
Responsibilities
- Leverage Python, PySpark and other data science tools to implement analytics that will support actual investment decisions and drive value creation initiatives
- Turn diverse data sources into actionable insights and effectively communicate findings with compelling visualizations for better, faster business decisions
- Create recurring reports & dashboards to support the entire investment process, from sourcing to due-diligence to portfolio projects
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a college/master’s degree in a STEM subject with strong quantitative focus
- Have Python expertise (a must) and experience with Tableau/PowerBI a plus
- Have a keen interest in emerging AI technologies, particularly large language models
- Have strong attention to detail, given engagement with key internal and external stakeholders
- Are positive, proactive, creative, and energized about contributing in a fast-paced and often changing environment
- Are fundamentally an intellectually curious, resourceful, and team-driven person
- Ability to juggle a high‐volume workload and competing priorities
- Have strong written communication: Clear communicator competent at explaining technical content to a nontechnical audience, and distilling key messages from analysis in verbal, memo & PowerPoint format
- Quantitative abilities: Comfortable implementing both complex ensembles of models and devising “quick & dirty” estimates. The candidate should demonstrate strong enthusiasm for solving business problems in new ways
