The Senior Vice President, Chief Actuary will lead the actuarial function for Global Atlantic’s Bermuda platform which includes Global Atlantic owned entities and third-party capital entities sponsored and managed by Global Atlantic. The successful candidate will lead the Bermuda actuarial team (approximately 20 individuals) and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of Global Atlantic Financial Company Bermuda Ltd. The Chief Actuary will also work closely with various teams across the organization such as investments, risk, finance, and IT, both onshore and offshore.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Bermuda actuarial team
  • Supervise the accurate and timely production of actuarial balances and analyses for the Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet
  • Provide insightful analysis to senior management to guide decision making
  • Effectively communicate results and analysis to senior management and board of directors
  • Support Risk team with required BSCR and other capital metrics calculations under internal and external stress scenarios
  • Ensure proper documentation, control, and governance over the actuarial process
  • Conducting annual impact testing for potential assumption changes
  • Support audit and regulatory requests

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years of actuarial experience in the life insurance industry with Fellowship actuarial designation
  • Experience with life insurance valuation and financial reporting
  • Annuity experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with asset adequacy frameworks (EBS, CALM, or CFT) strongly preferred
  • Actuarial modeling experience (ALFA or similar) a plus
  • Strong communication, technical, and analytical skills with the ability to participate in creative idea generation
  • Ability to take personal accountability for the execution of team goals and objectives, with a positive attitude and excellent ability to work in a team
  • Ability to lead and motivate a large team
  • Ability to attract and develop talent
