POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic is excited to hire 2 interns in our Bermuda office for summer of 2026. The Bermuda intern will have the opportunity to work with the Actuarial or Finance team, gaining experience working in the reinsurance business.
The intern will have opportunity to work with one of the following teams:
- Actuarial – Modelling
- Actuarial – Valuation
- Finance
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will vary, but may include the following:
- Support quarter-end close processes
- Assist with analysis related to Best Estimate Liability (BEL) or Embedded Value (EV)
- Work with modelling software such as MG-ALFA and MG-Integrate to generate liability cashflows and/or perform ALM runs for BEL and EV
- Help build tools to streamline workflows using data process software such as Excel and Python
- Work with data visualization software such as Power BI to improve analytics
- Produce documentation for internal and audit reference
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program for actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, or a related field; with expected graduation in 2027
- Completion of an actuarial exam preferred, if applying for an actuarial role
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R, VBA) preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of projects
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability
