Galaxia Technologies Inc. is seeking a mission-driven IT Director to lead technical operations on-site in El Paso, TX for a groundbreaking new space-focused program in collaboration with the U.S. Space Force (USSF), academic partners, and local industry. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation at the intersection of classified infrastructure, emerging technologies, and strategic partnerships.

In this dual-capacity role, you will serve as both:

- On-Site Technical Lead for the El Paso space initiative, and
- IT Director for Galaxia Technologies Inc., leading enterprise-wide IT operations and strategy.

You will be responsible for architecting and implementing solutions ranging from secure network and rack space design to cloud-native infrastructure, while managing hybrid teams across multiple sites. This position demands a hands-on technical expert with strong leadership, strategic vision, and the ability to execute with precision in a dynamic environment.

Travel to other locations may be required up to 10%. Relocation assistance provided.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary technical authority on-site in El Paso, overseeing setup and ongoing operations of secure infrastructure in support of USSF-related space programs.
- Design and implement classified network environments, including physical infrastructure (rack space, networking, segmentation, etc.) and cybersecurity compliance.
- Lead enterprise-wide IT strategy and operations for Galaxia Technologies Inc., balancing cloud-native, on-premise, and hybrid deployments.
- Establish and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Monitor advancements in cloud technology and recommend innovative solutions to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with academic institutions, industry partners, and government stakeholders to shape and deliver next-gen space-focused capabilities.
- Oversee and direct cloud infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS environments, with a focus on scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional and remote teams, ensuring cohesive execution and communication across the enterprise.
- Own IT compliance, documentation, budgeting, and vendor management.
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on infrastructure growth, cyber risk, and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 12+ years of experience in IT/cloud engineering; or Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience as a IT/cloud engineer, architect and/or technology leader for complex enterprise deployment efforts.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining classified network infrastructures (e.g., JWICS, SIPR, SCIF environments).
- Deep expertise in cloud-based architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP), hybrid environments, and enterprise IT systems.
- Strong background in network engineering, infrastructure design, data center planning, and security architecture.
- Advanced understanding of network, storage, and security principles including compliance requirements and monitoring tools.
- Active Security+ certification (CISSP highly preferred)
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC), git driven operations (GitOps), CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps principles and cloud-native architectures utilizing container orchestration and serverless technologies.
- Expert problem-solving and analytical skills in addressing complex, large-scale challenges.
- Proven experience leading cross-site, remote, or hybrid technical teams
- Demonstrated success working with government, defense, or national security programs, particularly DoD or IC partners.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with leadership, stakeholders, development teams, and industry or academic communities.
- Active or recent SSBI with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a CI polygraph.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
- Background in government or defense-related cloud environments, with knowledge of relevant compliance frameworks.
- Experience working in highly classified environments supporting the IC/DoD for operational missions
