Who You Are:

As the Vice President of Construction, you will serve as a senior leader on the owner’s side, driving the full lifecycle of mission-critical construction projects across domestic and international markets. You will be responsible for leading internal construction teams, overseeing third-party contractors and consultants, and delivering high-performance, hyperscale-ready data center campuses. This role requires a systems-oriented builder with a high degree of technical fluency, executive presence, and operational urgency.

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Build and lead a high-performance construction organization including project directors, project managers, owner and contract engineers, and commissioning managers.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and technical excellence.
    • Drive performance management, mentorship, and professional development.
    • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across development, design, operations, and client delivery teams.
  • Construction Execution
    • Oversee all construction phases from preconstruction and permitting to commissioning and turnover.
    • Directly manage general contractors, EPCs, and design partners to ensure delivery on cost, schedule, and scope.
    • Lead multiple concurrent hyperscale developments with a focus on speed, consistency, and quality.
    • Conduct regular site visits, lead executive reviews, and proactively resolve roadblocks.
  • Financial & Risk Management
    • Own full project P&L, including capital budget, cash flow forecasting, and ROI analysis.
    • Mitigate risk through disciplined change order management, real-time reporting, and rigorous controls.
    • Track and report against key performance indicators, milestone schedules, and quality/safety standards.
  • Design & Technical Coordination
    • Collaborate with internal design and engineering teams to create repeatable, scalable campus prototypes.
    • Ensure alignment of MEP systems, redundancy tiers, commissioning protocols, and sustainability features with client and internal standards.
    • Lead constructability reviews and value engineering efforts to improve cost, schedule, and technical outcomes.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as the executive lead for project delivery to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
    • Maintain strong relationships with hyperscale customers and enterprise clients during design-build phases.
    • Ensure seamless handoff to operations with fully commissioned and service-ready data halls.

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of managing large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects.
  • Proven expertise in data center construction, including ground-up development, MEP systems, and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performance internal construction teams and systems.
  • Strong command of construction finance, risk management, and scheduling methodologies.
  • Executive-level communication skills and ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering in major U.S. data center markets (e.g., Dallas, Ashburn, Phoenix, Atlanta).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Relevant experience considered in lieu of credentials.
  • PMP, CCM, or similar certifications a plus.

Bonus Points:

  • 5+ years of hyperscaler or colo owner-side experience managing large/scale, mission critical data center construction projects.
