Who You Are:

You will serve as the on-site security leader for a large-scale data center campus currently under construction, reporting directly to the VP of Data Center Security. This role is responsible for building and maturing site-level security operations, supporting construction-to-operations readiness, and helping establish the processes, partnerships, and operational standards required to support a growing campus environment.

As a leader in the organization, this individual will operate with a high degree of ownership while partnering closely with executive leadership, construction teams, site operations, and external service providers. The ideal candidate is a builder—someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, collaborates effectively across teams, creates structure where needed, and translates strategy into practical, scalable execution within an evolving organization.

This role operates within a mission-critical infrastructure environment where reliability, operational readiness, and strong cross-functional coordination are essential to maintaining the security and continuity of data center operations.

What You’ll Do:

Program Buildout & Strategy

  • Build and operationalize the physical security program at the site level from construction through steady-state operations
  • Collaborate with the VP of Data Center Security and cross-functional partners to develop and refine site-specific policies, post orders, and standard operating procedures
  • Help establish scalable operating frameworks, readiness measures, and site security standards that support campus expansion and long-term growth
  • Serve as the onsite subject matter expert on physical security, advising leadership on risk posture, operational readiness, and evolving site priorities

Construction Integration & Site Development

  • Collaborate with construction, engineering, and technology teams to ensure security requirements are incorporated into site development
  • Provide operational input to the design and deployment of physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, perimeter protection, badging infrastructure, and guard operations
  • Partner with project teams and technical stakeholders during installation, commissioning, and turnover activities to ensure systems support operational security requirements
  • Support cross-functional planning to ensure security procedures, staffing models, and technology platforms are ready as the campus transitions from construction to operations

Operational Leadership

  • Lead the evolution of the onsite security function, strengthening the existing guard force structure to support a large-scale, high-availability campus environment
  • Evaluate and refine staffing models, post orders, training standards, escalation protocols, and performance metrics to drive operational maturity
  • Coordinate closely with security technology and infrastructure teams to ensure systems and guard operations function together effectively
  • Assess and help implement the appropriate long-term service delivery model, which may include transitioning to or integrating third-party guard services
  • Establish operational KPIs and accountability measures to ensure consistent guard force performance, strong incident handling, and service excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement in incident response, reporting, crisis management, and day-to-day security operations

Vendor & Operational Oversight

  • Partner with security integrators, guard providers, and technology vendors to support reliable service delivery aligned with construction and operational timelines
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management activities for the site security program
  • Contribute to equipment planning, lifecycle tracking, and operational readiness for security devices and related infrastructure
  • Develop practical inventory controls and demand planning processes to support site stability and system uptime

Risk & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct site-level risk assessments and help implement mitigation strategies aligned with campus growth and operational complexity
  • Develop proactive and reactive security approaches tailored to a large-scale data center environment
  • Leverage data analysis and reporting tools to track system health, incidents, performance trends, and operational KPIs
  • Provide executive-level reporting to the VP of Data Center Security on risk posture, readiness, and program performance
  • Identify practical solutions to evolving challenges with limited structure and minimal guidance

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience managing security operations, vendors, or service providers within data center, critical infrastructure, or other mission-critical environments
  • 5+ years of experience leading operational programs or projects across complex facilities or technical environments
  • 3+ years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or cost management
  • 2+ years of project management and project execution experience
  • Experience working with physical security technologies such as access control systems and video management platforms
  • Role will report onsite in Afton, Texas

Bonus Points:

  • Experience building or significantly evolving a physical security program from construction through operations
  • Experience in hyperscale or large campus data center environments
  • Experience leading guard force transformation or operational optimization initiatives
  • Experience managing incidents, escalations, and crisis response in mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with data center technologies, infrastructure, and methodologies
  • Experience using planning tools to forecast demand and manage inventory levels
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools to support operational and executive decision-making
  • Experience working in high-growth or startup environments
